Yeah fully agree with you about the ride height. Wanted to lower it as soon as I removed it from the base and saw how high it was! Wasn't easy, but I'm glad I lowered it. Thanks, very glad you like it now ☺️👍🏻

Yeah, built this R34 around 3 or 4 years ago and had the full build on my website. But I thought about making it into a video for more people to see and here it is ☺️ nowadays you can buy an Ignition Model R34 which is already lowered 😅 Thanks for support and well done for all your great builds and videos 👍🏻👍🏻

oh man, this is one of the best diecast restorations I've seen! Awesome job especially with the lowering of the car. I still have yet to try lowering a car seriously. (I have done one for the RX3, but it was super easy, but I checked the boxart and it wasn't supposed to be low, so I ended up putting them back up to normal.. haha stupid me..) It really was a pleasure watching this slide show. I heard Auto Art stuff is super expensive though. Keep up the good work, Karl! Always cheering for ya! 😊✌️

Thanks Bryden, your constant support towards my work is very appreciated like always. I'm glad you like this restoration job. I don't usually do diecast 1/18s but my friend was selling it cheap and couldn't refuse to bring it back to life. Nowadays I'm not very happy with the paint becuase it was supposed to be midnight purple but in normal conditions it looks black! Someday, I'll redo it! Yeah lowering a model kit may be challenging, depending on the car. On some Tamiya kits, it's super easy. On others, you need more work. If you are ever in doubt, feel free to ask and I'll do my best to help ☺️👍🏼

This is more informative than my school work i’m planning on getting a R34 AutoArt but when I do i’m gonna paint the engine head like red because it sorta fits and do the same thing with the exhaust

Hello there, many thanks for your comment. I'm glad you like my transformation, I tried to salvage and detail this R34 best I could. A metallic red engine top cover would look amazing on an RB26 and the exhaust is very simple on this AA R34 so you'll be doing the right thing right there too 👍👍

Thank you Atrix, that is very appreciated and so glad you like my video. I wish I had filmed the process because I'm sure it would have been even better than a slideshow of the progress. I have four Aa's Ztunes. It's awful that paintrash, these are beautiful and nowadays (sometimes) expensive models and that paintrash wastes metal and overal look of the models. Sometimes it's fixeable by using polishing compounds but some others need previous sanding and in worst cases like this, model needs to be repainted. It's a nice thing you treat it well and paint It in mythical Midnight purple.

Hello Oscar, thank you for your comment. Yes I fully agree with you, it's a real pity that some beautiful diescast model cars, like the Z-tune, are suffering from such damage to their paints. It hurts, especially if its an expensive model as you said. The previous owner of this GT-R had been treating the paint issues himself with polish and patience, but once the big bubble occured, he contacted and sold it to me for a full respray. Really glad you like my final outcome.

Thank you Chris, glad you like my video. Many years ago I used to work on diecasts only, mainly Bburago or Maisto. Then I turned to plastic kits and stayed there! This AutoArt was an exception as a friend wanted to part with it due to the damage.. couldn't say no :) AutoArt was a little more complicated to take apart and re-assemble, but other than it still was fun. For my AA they suggested to me to use Zinc Primer due to the blistering body. So far, it's still good! Thanks again for checking out my video.

Hi again what alcohol do u use to remove the paint from the plastics any link as I'm currently restoring my aa z tune thanks
@KarlScaleModeling

Hello there. The alcohol I used is called Isopropyl Alcohol, 99%. I bought it from a pharmaceutical supplier here locally. I don't have any link since its just a local store. Maybe you can search locally for it too. Hope that helps and good luck with your restoration 👍

Hi Aldrich, I'm glad my video could be of help to you to do a similar job as myself. The logos were a bit tricky I remember, but can't remember exactly how I tackled them. Can be that I slowly removed them with a blade, but not sure as it's been several years now since I did this. Sorry for that ☺️

Hello there, I saw your email yesterday but didn't reply as I was busy getting this video ready. I saw you have some nice products, some of them I already own. If I need more info, I'll let you know. Usually, if I see something I like I search for it online and buy it so I'll do that if I need more products from HD. Alpha Models are very detailed and must be fun to build. Thanks 👍🏻
