Great restoration. The symbols added the perfect touch. A rawhide wrap around the scabbard would have been a good move. Then the line of that leather meeting wouldn't exist.

A lot of knives in the Medieval period were carried as a kit - one sheath would have a large utility knife with a smaller knife for special tasks. Have you ever thought about bringing more than one restoration project together like that?

Вот каждый раз меня цепляет ваша смелость при работе с кожей)) так резко резать, клеить, тянуть... я каждый лоскутик, каждый отрез десять раз перемеряю, и иногда 5 мм не угадываю на самом видном месте! =) Отличный ролик! Интересная дизайнерская работа.

Для меча коротковат - 51 см...максимум на на римский гладиус тянет, и по весу, кстати, тоже. Вот только у гладиусов форма была другая. )))

I am so very fucking happy and thankful for making the blade rest fully on the table without the possibility of impaling yourself while you are polishing. Man... Next it is that rotten stool used to rest a huge machine going crazy RPM. Let's make that change too. Pretty please. Awesome job BTW.

I don't know, but in the end it turned out to be a working tool. Now both the balance is normal and the sharpness.

Strange blade that one is wonder as it is flat one side if it maybe one of a pair that went into the same scabbard alongside each other, either way do like what you have done with it came out really cool

At the end, we found out that chisel edges are not good at cutting when it comes to swords. It does look very good though, nice work.

Можно было раззенковать концы отверстий в рукояти, и латунные трубочки потом развальцевать с помощью шариков от подшипников, тогда при расклёпывании алюминия ему было бы куда расходиться, это добавило бы соединению прочности. Хотя, конечно, и так хорошо. Это я так, перфекционизжу.
