Good looking pipe, turned into a great looking pipe after you were done! I'm new to pipe smoking and found your channel through KZitem suggestions after exploring the YTPC. A few weeks ago my wifes stepdad gave me 3 estate Dr.Grabows, a virtually unsmoked color duke,a starfire and a silver Duke bulldog. The bulldog was almost as built up as this pipe,I was able to get it to a presentable and smokable condition thanks to you. Thanks and keep up the good work!

I've never had a pipe with that much build up, I scrape mine out once in a while. Another good video and that pipe looks good now. I'm learning a lot watching you, and my bit cleaner will be here in two days.

@@The_Southland_Piper Thanks, a question I do have is what glue is used for tightening the bits if they are too loose?
@The_Southland_Piper

@@whitetail7516 If you have a stem, that’s either too loose or too tight beeswax applied to the stem tendon, often solves the issue. If the stem is still too loose and you don’t have any way to expand the tenant, then you can take some superglue on a Q-tip and apply it to the inside of the mortise or the tenon. If you haven’t done this before I would apply the glue to the tenon. It’s easy to say down if you get too much.

Hi Tim love watching your videos, get a lot of good tips from them. Can you tell me about your pipe stand on your work bench. Did you make it yourself.It appears it a piece of 4x4 post with leather on top. Is there any padding under the leather. Also can you tell e about the strap that you use to clamp down the stems for working on them that’s attached to it. Lastly what brand buffer and wheels are you using.

Thank You. I’m glad you enjoy the videos. I did make the stand. You are correct I used a 4x4. Here is more info. Base width 7.5 inches Base depth 5.5 inches 4x4 height 5 inches Strap 9.5 inches Shims length 3.25 inches Leather top 5.5 x 5.5 Standard Draw latch and clasp. No padding under the leather. The strap is made from belt leather. I just cobbled it together from stuff I had around. I bought the cheapest variable speed buffer they had on Amazon. I run 5 inch wheels. Here is a link to the buffer. a.co/d/iHOGaJl Thank you for watching.

Cleaned it up good. Tim do you know much about about a Erwin Go Bragh pipe? I may not have it spelled right. I got one last week.

I haven’t had one in my hand but my understanding is that they are somewhat equal or a step down when compared to Peterson pipes. Erin Go Bragh and Peterson pipes look very similar.
