Hello folks! Today I have a restoration of the Japanese bayonet type 30. A friend dug up a new, interesting find and gave it to me. Initially, I didn't understand what it was, but after looking at it in more detail, I noticed a ring similar to the ring of a bayonet knife. Well, let's start the restoration!
First, I removed all the earth from the object, cleaned it with an iron brush. Then, with the help of a rust remover, I cleaned the object, but this was not enough. To completely remove the rust from the object, I used a sandblaster. But all the same, petrified rust remained on the object. With the help of a drill machine and various nozzles, I cleaned the entire surface with the help of grinding nozzles.
Then he cut off the end of the bayonet, which rotted and shaped the tip of the knife. Corrected all the blade and started manual grinding. Then I darkened the blades and moved on to creating the handle.
I heated the bayonet button of the knife, unscrewed and replaced the spring, which was broken.
For the new handle linings, I used wood and brass rivets. After processed and impregnated with wax for wood. As usual, I made an interesting test for you. Thanks for your attention!
Sincerely, Alex. Thanks for attention!
Good luck and health to everyone! With best wishes, Alex!
