This was very helpful. Thank you! I used the fork, a scrubbing brush, and remembered I have a metal bristled wig brush. They all work great. 👍

I think it's because it is synthetic materials. It is clitting together. I tried the brush as well and to make the carpet wet, also using softening laundry products so the hairs woulnd stick to eachother and the whole thing would feel regain its soft touch. It helped but it quickly goes back to its former state. Maybe i should use an even better product to keep it softer and keep some volume in the fibres. Maybe also use a degreaser of some kind.

I think I'll stick with your fork or use the two in combination. Fork def looks like it works better. Double work, maybe.

It took about 40 minutes altogether so not too bad, it isn't perfect but it does make a difference.

Can you do a video on getting old nail polish out of a carpet

My daughter was four or five, she spilt a bottle of red nail polish in the center of my living room when the carpet was one week old. Luckily, the carpet is a burgundy color but you could definitely see it. I got some acetone free nail polish and tried to dab it up but it was still there. The next day when the carpet store opened they told me to get straight acetone (I was afraid it would melt the carpet) which I did. They told me, no it would be okay. I still tried some on a small piece they had left behind and it did not damage it. I would recommend trying an out of the way spot first. Long story short I dabbed, dabbed and dabbed for about fifteen to twenty minutes (I didnt't want to work it into the fibers or smear it) and it all came out perfectly. I was shocked. Had it not come out I had bought a twenty year kid proof carpet that they told me had it not come out they would have honored the warranty and come out and lay new carpet. It looked good for twenty years but it is now going on twenty five and after three kids and three dogs over the years it's getting time to go. Give this a try, hope it helps

How long does it stay looking good before you feel you need to do it again?

Probably around 3-4 months depending on your carpet and traffic. You must also vacuum regularly as that helps.
