The Melbourne correspondent for the Overdrive radio and podcast program, Christopher Leadbeatter, is a mad, keen Jaguar fan. He dabbles with old Jaguars for two reasons. He’s happiest when he can fiddle with cars and secondly money is an object. We have tested some new Jaguars but only to report but haven’t yet stretched to the point of buying one.
Christopher’s latest adventure was to work on a Mk 1 Jaguar to iron out a few issues so he could have a spirited drive while sitting in a car with all the ambiance of the original model.
I spoke to him from his locked down-home in Melbourne where he told of some of his Jaguar history, what he did to make it perform with reliability, and how it finished it in quicker than expected time so that it could be a wedding car for his daughter.
