What makes this video different and worth watching is the detail and description of the various parts of the UHER Report 4000-L audio tape recorder and how to change the belts, adjust the drive mechanism,. re-cushion the motor and check the record/play and equalization switches.
The UHER vintage audio reel to reel tape recorder used in the video arrived at ClydeSight as a wreck. It apparently had been dropped, and apparently a prior attempt had been made at repair (including replacing the microphone) which did not help the machine.
This video is a record of how Clydesight corrected these problems and show how to access, clean, maintain and replace various parts of the vintage UHER Report 4000-L vintage audio reel to reel tape recorder.
