You can put those shoe stretchers to use...just put a heavy-duty sock over the form to protect the painted surface from the shoe interior.

This is very nice! Maybe you could look at bluing if you don't want to leave any sort of particle like paint or plating inside a shoe. It should protect the steel from corrosion as well.

proper cobblers like yourself a thing of the past. Maybe with the advent of Timpson. Grew up to see a proper tradesman from Italy repair shoes superbly. Had a pair of M and S oxford blacks with leather soles. he resucitated the soles on numerous occasions until the heel broke away. Unfortunatley the guy passed on. Keep up the great videos mate. All interesting stuff.

Dan as always love your videos! Let’s see, I would have to say that a machine is a tool, or at least in my opinion. We use tools to make a job easier or decrease how much energy and effort we put into a job. Typically I’d think a machine is just any man made creation to be used as a tool with moving parts, gears, pins, etc. love questions that make you stop and think! Keep them coming !

I would have probably use White Lithium based grease, it's thicker, but still lubricates metal on metal extremely well.

Mate you could try buying those sand blasters some of them can be very cheap. This tool could definitely help you remove all hat rust and paint

By definition I would say that it is a machine. "A machine uses power to apply forces and control movement to perform an intended action." Where as, "A tool is an object used to extend the ability of an individual to modify features of the surrounding environment."
