Just a few tips either paint it bone white or yellow. These plugs are fished for striped bass. Also don’t use spar urethane, instead spray it with lawyer as a finish after you paint it. Tight lines!

Helmsman spar varnish is not epoxy. Nice restoration though.

great video! did it smell like fumes when finished? and did you have to add any fish scents to it?

Thanks, once the epoxy finished drying there was no smell at all. I have not added any fish scent to it but that is a great idea.

I like the paw paw wotta frog style spattering effect, well done What species of fish are you likely to catch with a lure that size?

Thanks for the feedback! I will be targeting Striped Bass, but bluefish are also likely to hit this lure

@@catchingzzzsoutdoors1872 Around 1980 I went a fishing in canada using a floating plastic frog. That was the only time I really ever used lures, (more of a leger or float bait perch and trout fisherman) But the fishing with that little green thing was aewsome. I simply drifted around the margin areas of the lake in a canoe, and flipped the lure onto overhanging branches, then drop it into the water. You can guess what happened next...plenty of bass (smallmouth? not sure, they had a small sharp spur on the gill tips, averaging 15 to 18 inches, very tasty cook up) My host called them blue bass. Anyway fantastic sport especially when black bears show up to watch what your doing. At age 59 I'm looking to get back into fishing, only now with the aim of going for pike, using plugs and spoons (assuming the UK's kung flu police state conditions ever allow people to fish again of course) Anyway, hopefully you'll get some decent fish on your refurbed lure, it would make another good video!
