Awesome video however I'd love to see a full setup done. Ive watched so many videos and man it seems everyone has "Their" way of doing it and they make sure to let you know that everyone else seems to be doing it wrong. Is there a proper way or is it just done however said KZitemr is doing it? Prolly a stupid question but there's so many conflicting views from channel to channel. Still an awesome and straight forward video using tools you can get at harbor freight and not what channels seem to push on you. Thx again.

I agree everyone has their own way of doing things. I try to demonstrate my way that’s worked for me and never want people to feel like it’s the only way. There’s more than one way to skin a cat! Thank you for watching and a full setup video is now on my to do list 🤘🏻

@@joehansonguitar so here's a question that no video seems to cover. How do you raise the height of the saddles? My low E is normal but the next highest string the saddle is super low. Im just trying to raise it without having to tear it apart. Any help would be great.
@joehansonguitar

have you ever had all the saddles off the bridge base or did you get the guitar used where a previous owner might have had them all off? The saddles are usually (but not always) numbered meaning the 1st and 6th are one size, the 2nd and 5th are a little taller and the 3rd and 4th are even taller. These all correlate to the radius of the fretboard. Is it possible a couple saddles are inadvertently swapped around or someone replaced a saddle with the wrong size?

I JUST got ahold of a Jackson dinky. Gotta say Wow!! Great guitar for the dollar even brand new. Why would anyone buy a fender unless you could go custom shoppe? Anyway, question. Can you show how to get the intonation measurements?? BTW, I just built one from scratch and chose the Floyd Rose FRX. Spectacular!!!!!
@joehansonguitar
Жыл бұрын
Those are great guitars man! Intonation isn’t something I’ve actually ever measured but rather keep tweaking until the open string and 12th fret notes are both in tune. The rule of thumb is “fretted flat forward” meaning if your 12th fret note is flat, move the saddle forward. If it’s sharp, the string needs to be longer and the saddle needs to come back. Hope that answers your question. If not let me know!

@@joehansonguitar worked great. But I did take the fine tuner screws all the way out, file the faces an reinstall. They had a very course face on the screw from the factory so the fine running was jumping

Did you take all the strings off and not support the bridge with something like a Trem Block or a rag? Just trying to get an idea of what you are referring to. Thanks

Does the Tremblock work on non-recessed/top mounted Floyds? I do have a Tremblock, I’ve a Jackson Adrian Smith and a Dave Murray Strat and change strings one by one but eventually I’m gonna wanna clean the fretboard and tbh I’m terrified of taking them all off 😅

Yes, it actually works best on those types. I have an ‘86 Kramer American Pacer that it’s great on. I have issues with modern deep recessed guitars such as Ibanez and use a folded up cleaning cloth mostly with those.

@@joehansonguitar Right, thank you for replying and giving me a bit of confidence! I’ll do a restring and see how I go this way! Would you recommend decking these types of Floyd’s for stability? Sorry for all the Q’s I’m a Floyd novice. I’d essentially just want it fixed to the bridge permanently but dive only and no pull up as there is a slight bit of pull. Any info would be appreciated!
@joehansonguitar

I’m here to hopefully help people who have questions so no worries! I personally have my FR’s full function meaning that I need them to both dive and pull pitches. The types of music I play requires that. I would say that if you keep the functionality intact, over time you’ll get very familiar with how it functions best and how to restring it and perform maintenance. Remember, mistakes are part of the learning process! Hope that helps.

@@joehansonguitar Thanks for your reply! I have no interest really in pulling up! And it’s a bonus that the signature guitars I have are non recessed. So I was just after the easiest way of restringing/maintaining tbh lol

@@joehansonguitar Hello Joseph just a quick Q, Do you tune up whilst the Tremblock is still under the bridge or remove it when all restrung and then tune? Cheers, Scott.
