Who else agrees that the GameCube was not kid-friendly built? The N64 sure was, but GameCube used discs that could be scratched if the owner of the console is younger than ten years old. And these games were so expensive! They still are today. I got a scratched Melee disc for $70, the disc gives a bunch of errors if you don’t skip the intro. Was I ripped off?

quick question. every once in awhile ill start the sanding process and the sanding pad will start turning white and is basically ruined, what the hell is that? its happened with a pad after 3 times of use and a pad that ive used 50 times. i think that its a disk thats been resurfaced before, maybe wax or polish coming off. since its a wet dry sanding pad the process that works best for me is: #1 1 mist out of a water bottle on the disc and 2 on the pad with a 15 second fine X4. #2 3 minute polish X3. this process works great i never see a swirl or scratch!!

They cleaned it professionally (disc resurfaced machine) twice, first time highest level and second time on a lower level. There are no scratches at all, the disc looks almost brand new, however, when i play it, it all works, except when you go from one level to the other level. Then i get the message on the screen to turn of the power button of my nintendo, i have the same issue with the wii and the gamecube while playing this game. Please what seems to be the problem? Should i go to let the disc to be repaired professionally again?

I haven’t had much luck with this machine. Like you said, it makes the discs look a million times better, but they tend to just not work anyway, despite the disc looking pretty much perfect. I fixed one copy of Melee, but had no luck with Metroid Prime, Animal Crossing, Mario Party 7, and about 6 other copies of Melee.
@nonumfrancis3109

something to note is the longevity of discs. Each time you resurface a disc you essentially completely remove a layer of it, along with any minor scratches in that layer. If you do it too many times (i usually stop at 3) the disc will be ruined. Also, some scratches damage the actual disc rather than the plastic coating, where most scratches are. if that’s the case, the disc isn’t fixable
@mr.finger8429
2 жыл бұрын
Its heat that warps the disc making it useless. I bet all those games could have been saved with the correct advise. Do not exceed the 1 min buffing. And spray a tiny amount of water on the disc before hand.

WATCH OUT!!! READ THIS!!! The heat will warp the disc, just look at the reflection. It will bend the light, so the laser will be bend as well when trying to read the disc. So they might look scratch free, but still won't work. And they never will, because this warpage is irreversible. The gamecube disc are smaller, which means more rotations and therefore friction. SO DO NOT EXCEED 1MIN OF BUFFING. The instructions that come with the gamecube adapter kit will tell you so. This video gives you bad advise unfortunately.
