That's correct. We have to ensure that the Word of God is our complete authority and not the knowledge that either ourselves or the world perceives. Let every enemy including deceitfulness be subject to the feet of Christ. Psalm 110:1. 🙏🏾❤️

Question for pastor Vernon...what information from the Bible lead you to say that Jesus struggled with his emotions?

Ciera's words really resonated with me; she mentioned, "I don’t wanna break God's heart anymore." I find myself in a similar place on my journey. I realize that I often create distance between myself and God by clinging to aspects of my old self while striving to embrace my new self. It's a challenging and disheartening struggle.

I absolutely love the vulnerability and transparency of this podcast! Thank you so much for putting yourselves out there and being so real. The pilot was great and this first episode about rethinking Jesus was very thought provoking. Looking forward to more episodes😊

32:38 this part made me reflectively uncomfortable. Being called names by people in the church is the worst experience as a person trying to pursue Christ. Today, people love to throw around the term “lukewarm” and that to me is even more offensive because people are trying to get in position to be Christians and become discouraged, or it adds onto the church hurt they’re already carrying. In my opinion, it’s more profound when a person comes to another person with a direct reflection than over generalizing who they think they are. Direct feedback in a polite way can be sooo much more impactful than name calling. This is all so important, just imagine how many people who feel they’d never be accepted by the church, or God, will watch this video and see a different way to think about it.

43:43, 49:28 heavy on having multicultural perspectives! It’s eye opening-and heart changing to learn about other peoples stories.
