I don't know if anyone will read this, but I use Acitretin to combat my Hidradenitis Suppurativa (Hurley stage 2) and it basically reduced it to an occassional little breakout like a pimple or so every couple of months. It literally saved my mental health. Hope this helps anyone else.

Retinal is short for retinaldehyde, the name is given by the chemical structure (the molecule has an aldheyde group that retinol doesn't have) , it's based on chemical nomenclature 🙂

the ordianary provides the cheapest granactive retinoid in the market with clear indication of the amount (2% which is 0.2% retinoid and 5% which is 0.5% retinoid). all other brands are incredibly overpriced (like sunday riley, oskia, skin rocks, etc). retinal is sold for like 5€ by a trusted french lab called aroma-zone and they ship worldwide.

granactive retinoid requires no conversion and goes to the same receptor as tretinoin, but still retinal (that requires to be converted) is said to be more effective than granactive retinoid. why ?

watch the video again. she clearly said that granactive is just a cousin of the interested active. Retinal, despite the need to convert, turns into THE actual active.

Reitnyl Palmitate is active in A313. A minimally potent retinoid. You need about 200 years to see the difference and changes of your the skin if you are 30+ years old. I've been on every freacking retinoid and I can say that Retinaldehyde (Retinal) works the best for me. It is also very gentle. Avène dose for the under eye area in 0.025 = 0.25 retinol. The dose for the whole face is 0.1 which is equal to 1% retinol. Avenè also has 0.05% serum which equals 0.5% retinol. It is a starter that is the gentlest reinaldehyde for the entire face area for conditioning. No peeling, no perioral dermatitis, no nausea, and the changes are visible very quickly. Tretinoin 0.5% gave me trouble for 10 years, plus I had a gray undertone despite regular hydration and Oxy treatments. However, my skin never "fell in love" with hydroxypinacolone retinoate. 🙄 Geek & Gorgeous retinAl serums are also good as Avène, and a budget option.

What is retinal? I googled is and it corrected me saying it's 'retinol' and there is nothing on 'retiNAL'. Can someone mention any product of Retinal so I can check whether it's available in India? Thank you.
@hihohhhhhhhhhhh814

It’s actually called retinaldehyde (shortened to retinal). Not sure if they have it in India but I use avene night treatment from cleanance / a oxitive line. It contains 0,1% retinal so be careful because it IS strong. Very strong for “retinol” beginners. I burned my face once because I wasn’t careful using it.
