Great video, I am not retired (nor even close to it) but really enjoy the simple living content and can still get great tips. For your Q&A - I find that one area where I have less control in terms of both budgeting and overall life philosophy (minimalism, sustainability and so on) is socialising, be it with family or friends, like gift giving (and receiving!), holidays, going out to eat etc. I would love to hear your thoughts around how you navigate these situations. Thank you!

Hi, I wanted to let you know how much I'm enjoying your videos. Whilst I live in New Zealand, I did spend 23 years living in Calgary working in the oil & gas industry. Your stories so resinate with me, I too was laid off several times (which as you say is to be expected in the industry). Having said that, I was always able to find more work and was grateful for the Unemployment Insurance to fill the gaps. I'm now also retired and am actually enjoying learning to live on a rather small income. It's nice to hear how you manage it and also your money saving food tips and recipes are great. Looking forward to your next videos and best wishes with your channel.

A question for your Q&A. My husband and I are in our 50s with no kids, and are on track to retire by or before 60. Would love to know if there’s anything you are missing from your work life? I’ve been working remotely since the pandemic and am already finding I miss the social aspect of working in an office, along with the work wardrobe that was so much a part of me that I can’t seem to part with it, even though it doesn’t fit my casual lifestyle. Would love to know how your life has changed for the better, as well as for the worse. Thank you for sharing! ❤

I have a question. I am curious to know what things you did in a regular/daily basis that now you don't do (spend money on clothes, social events, etc). And if you keep the old friends or you have new retired friends, why do I ask that?, just to know if you have things in common with your old friends that are not retired or if you have nothing in common with them any more. Just one more time, I love your channel

Is there a recipe you use for the coconut pulp or do you go on to compost it?
@smallretiredlife
3 күн бұрын
Great question. I can dry it out in my oven and sprinkle it on like cereal and put it in my smoothies. Sometimes I pass it through the blender one more time with a little bit less water and get some more milk out of it. Sometimes I just compost it. But…. I don’t really like to waste stuff.

@@bmackillop9937I think I understand. Apparently I recorded them in mono. I had no idea how that happened…but now I do. They work fine if you are listening on your iPhone, iPad through a direct speaker. If you are using headphones, the sound comes out on one side only. Not good, but there is audio and if you listen through a speaker rather than headphones the audio is totally fine. Not sure why you hear no audio at all.
