Just a thought…why not invest in 1 more 1500 liter tank and run the T from the gutter section to that 3rd tank only, thereby maintaining the integrity of municipal water only in the other 2. Love your continual upgrades/improvements. WTG!

If I did that the rain water would just sit in there as I don't want to use it. It would also grow mold quickly, just sitting there. We would only open the valve if the municipal water stops. If the municipal water keeps flowing, we won't ever trap rain water.

Glad that all of the projects fell into place! I have to head to the building supply store tomorrow. I need to get mirrors for all 3 baths, maybe towel racks? Our bathrooms are pretty stripped. I also need to find a plumber to install a heater in the common bath shower. I don't do plumbing well, and afraid of messing something up in this rental house. I'll also be buying shelving for all of the cabinets in the kitchen. We have plenty of cabinets, but hardly any have shelves! 🤔 Since I can't do any of the yard projects, because of the Habagat we're still experiencing in Pampanga, inside projects can get done. Now that my last 6 Balikbayan boxes came, this morning, I have all of the tools here, now! 🥵 So glad you guys didn't get the weather we did, on Luzon! 🌧😲

As a alternative source of water, one possible option to take is to have a water well by driving g.i. pipes to the ground adjacent to your pump. You can then have it connected with a control valve for which you can open for potable water from the ground to fill your tank. Try some due diligence by exploring neighboring areas, to give you some data as to the efficient depth required for water to be sourced. A well can guarantee supply 24/7 even without power if connected to a manual pump along with it.

Digging a well in this immediate area is a 50/50 proposition. Chance of sulfur water, and you need to dig 300 meters to find a good source of water. There's 2 well drillers in this area and they say don't do it. Again, where we are located.

@Ray_Warren yes, iron comes from surface rocks IE: rivers or streams. Spring water comes out of the earth in reservoirs. You can drink the water here. You can test it by putting water in a glass, put teaspoon of chlorine and see if there's a reaction.

You did great with the Bisaya language! Barato and tubig. Tubig is also Tagalog. Your pronunciation was very good. I think it is important to learn some of the local dialects.
