My parents had green luggage like this until they replaced it with something more modern in the 90’s. But I miss the green color. My grandparents had fancy maroon luggage. I equated richness with maroon and red as a child. I thought that color was expensive. I miss these designs. Specially the tactile aspects of them.

I adore your mannerisms such as when you reach up to “adjust” your glasses.
@MidModMeridianASMR
Жыл бұрын
A few people have told me that. Some have even said they get tingles when I adjust my glasses. The reason I do it so often is because I’m actually wearing two pairs of glasses. 😂😂 One pair I always wear (for distance), but they’re not bifocals, so I can’t read with them. The other pair are readers. The outer pair is always slipping down my nose. 🤣

This reminds me of Mom. Any time she had her hard case luggage down, I'd play with the latch. Open. Close. Open. Close. She had the same case as yours but blue. Thanks for the kick of nostalgia, as always. Soothing, in more ways than one.

What is it about hat boxes and train cases that make me so happy? The sound the luggage closures take me back to when my dad went on business trips. I would help unpack his suitcase when he got home and I’d always find little hotel shampoos and conditioners he brought back for me. Good memories! Thanks so much Sherri 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Hahaaa! ASMR is so strange isn’t it? Sound is sooooo connected to our memories, much like smell. When I get just a whiff of boxwood, I’m immediately taken back to the front yard of my grandmother’s house. That’s sweet about your father, my dad did the same when he went away for 2-week army reserve camp every summer. I would get to sleep with my mom while he was away. So it was always a special thing when he was gone and a special thing when he returned. 🥰

Another retro delight! May I request a Tupperware party?
@MidModMeridianASMR
Жыл бұрын
Why, yes, you may! ☺️☺️ Several others have requested it as well. And strangely enough, I actually sold Tupperware and gave parties in 1978. 😂😂 What goes around comes around, I guess. I just need to source a sufficient supply of vintage Tupperware first. Probably can’t get to it for about six months. I have so many other videos that need to be moved to the front burners. But yes, I’ll definitely do it. ✨

Oh my gosh, i just discovered your channel and im in love! Im very picky about what asmr i listen to, i dont like most of the mainstream roleplays anymore, ever since asmr became so popular. They feel too forced and disconnected and just too many wet mouth sounds and weird sounds. This though, its a perfect concept for a style of asmr channel. I love watching old shopping channels or talk shows for asmr and this is a great recreation of that vibe! I hope this channel becomes very popular cause i think youve found something great here that a lot of asmr channels are missing 😊

My mom had a Samsonite train case that I loved. It was a grey pearl color, with grey pearl silky satin interior. When we went on a driving vacation, she would pack everything she would need for a couple of days on the road including night stays at motels. Her main suitcase staid in the trunk. The train case staid with her, at her feet. Oh, I loved that train case!

It depends on what you mean. All my videos on this channel are role plays set in the 1960s. So an informative video ABOUT Mod fashion/culture (from a 2023 point of view) wouldn’t fit with my channel. But I could probably invent a character who is working in the fashion industry in the late 60s and has some legitimate reason to explain the mod trends of the latter half of the decade to someone. ☺️☺️☺️

Yes, I do. When I first started my channel, I just used things that I already had around the house. I’ve been a long time collector of 1960s mid century modern things, mostly because it reminds me of my childhood. But yes, as my channel has grown, I have purchased things basically from everywhere: Etsy, eBay, yard sales, estate sales, flea markets, thrift stores.
