Thanks Russ! If I had to do it over again, I'd just buy a 2-stage compressor already set up, because I had to buy a few tools to do this job ;)

That's a good upgrade smaller pulley on motor make it easer on motor.

That's true Steve, I debated a long time on this one before purchasing. There's some cheaper ones available but I felt this was the best value. Hopefully it'll do a good job! :)

Got in a J-air compressor with a bad pump at 5.5hp motor. I’m thinking about going double stage on my single stage unit. Is there any things I need to set before I go ahead and purchase ?

Btw finding a 5.5 hp single pump is almost impossible….

I did but I'm hoping the 2-stage will give more flow for things like sand blasting.
