That first song really pushes the limits of PCM on the RP2A03. I never knew danooct1 was a chiptune author...

Doing an initial skip-through, the stereo sounds FANTASTIC with Lagrange Point. Not sure if the 5B isn't log, too loud, or both.

+ImATrackMan this is an early 5B core so it was linear. I have since changed it to use the full implementation on the chip including log volume channels, enveloping, and noise.

I'm always amazed at support for the VRC7 since only one game used the audio for it, although I suppose there's homebrew chiptunes that use it.

+Nukle0n The same could be argued for the 5B, but it was widely used everywhere that wasn't the Famicom.

I suppose he could, but it would be quite expensive due to the cost of the FPGA used...

It would be pretty great if you invented a flashcart sorta like the powerpak, that was solely for NSF music that could be played back on original hardware

You can do it with a flashcart for regular RP2A03 tunes but the first tune demonstrated here would take some work because there is so much PCM data in it.

I work with the 6502 and 65C816 which is like the original Super Nintendo. Has anyone ever made these into a REAL computer , music syntheszer etc ? What is the clock speed of the original Super Nintendo? Check my channel to see what I do with a C64.
