So when Garviel Loken reveals he has no idea what that is, the Interex guard he's speaking with is flabbergasted moreso than intellectually superior. (Imagine, if you will, a seafaring island culture that has no idea what a whale is). This could have been a diplomatic breakthrough for the two sides (since if they didn't know what Chaos was there's no way they could be its willing pawns as the Interex thought could potentially be the case at that point) had Erebus not stolen the Anathame at that point.

I'd very much like to see either the interex or a similar civilization that wethered the age of strife make a lore or table top return. There was this faction called the FAASH in the Horus Heresy that was very similar to the imperium but didn't wish to join, the space Wolves killed off their civilization over the course of the series of books. But it' would be a refreshing angle in the lore in the imperium nihilist where the astronomical cannot reach older civs who have hide start expanding or come into contact with the imperial on that side of the galaxy. They could be xeno aligned like the demiergue/squats/votan are recorded as being or just as fanatical as the imperials are with xeno but with the adoption of tech and it would lead in my opinion a nice juxtaposition of values in a context that shows the imperium as not entirely right about everything but also shows that it's a baseline for existence. Trade between worlds like between a imperial world to a lost civ world to a xeno world could happen as the imperials see it as work around to achieving their goals to cynically use others to achieve the things they themselves are not permitted to do. Kinda like the Shabbos goy who do all the things the orthodox Jewish community don't do on sabbath to avoid God's wrath. It's just a funny idea I had and to me would make the universe a bit more fleshed out.

There's a bit in the first Bequin book where she gets some tea and biscuits that prime Bequin ordered in Xenos. Bruh, like you saying the Emperor was an 'ok' leader is kinda hilarious, i mean yeah sure he made a few mistakes...he was just a man during the great crusade, a very powerful super being of a man but still a human and we humans make mistakes, if the chaos gods did not exist he would already own the galaxy at this point. Its just the imperium is fighting the literal forces of evil and hell who not just overpowers but mindbends the minds of mortals wherever they please, id say he did a pretty good job, his only flaw was not telling his sons about the webway as for the interex , i think it would be cool if they teamed up with the tau or a new xeno faction (space lizardmen or terelians maybe?)

I started listening to the monologue of the video with all intention to disagree. However, the more and more he spoke the more I agreed. The only thing I Did disagree with was that the interex are said to control 500 planets in the galactic north. Barring that, the interex are dumbasess full stop. Once he made the point about the kinebranch swords on display, that pretty much ends the discussion. It's not that chaos did them in, their own negligence did. When the conquistadors defeated the Aztec, they destroyed their literature. In some of this literature was step by step instructions on how to make poisons, build weapons etc. Now historians still bitch and complain about how "stupid" they were for destroying history. I don't see it all as black and white like that. I think the Spanish knew this was a serious threat and Stent Weren't thinking about what historian would read about them in 200 years they made a decision that at least didn't harm their survival chances. As far as the interex, their nonchalant attitude about anything other than chaos, caused something that wasn't ostensibly chaos to destroy them. They thought they'll listen tu the Eldar cause, well look at their ears. I wish I had ears like that. Now I run around scared out of my wits about something that I don't even know what it is

I think they clearly new chaos was too big for them as they were powerful but not imperial levels of power im sure they would resolve to fight chaos as they become better

You get it totally wrong. First of all they didnt know anything about warp craft. Erebus broke the blade if you remember in smaller blades via a specific ritual. They didnt know how to destroy the blade as to know warp craft means to be corrupted and they were not. The only ones who knew something were the kinebracht who lost the warp touch in time. So basically nobody knew how to deal with those dangerous artifacts . Hiding them was more dangerous as you didnt know how would affect individuals so they put those in a museum, as they were simply relics from another age. The joke is that not the Imperium were the ones not knowing about chaos as they were already learning very fast , but the interex who were tought by eldars only how to resist , probably because investigating chaos always leads to corruption. Is the same thing with the eldars who developed the paths, limiting the potential of the individual especially to prevent the fall.

Considering what the Emperor was willing to do to achieve his objectives, i am firmly on the side of the Interex on this one. Sometimes, doing nothing and passive resistance is better than to do something and risk it all, which is exactly what happened. If the Emperor never went ahead on his incredibly arrogant project to stop chaos, then the Interex would have not being fucked over by Erebus, so, BY CHAOS. In trying to stop them, the Emperor condemn a whole civilisation that was aware of Chaos to be defeated by a trick of chaos. This and many more cases cna be brought to show how wrong the Emperor is, and your reasoning is honestly flawed. For example, say that the sun is now, for x reason, radiating us and it will kill us all in 50 years. Sure, you can go ahead and follow the guy that say we should go and nuke the sun, but i prefer to simply make peace with myself and die of an inevitable death. Eternal damnation is not even a given in the warhammer universe, considering that we have little idea of what happens in the warp after death.

The reason Emps tried is because the current status quo for all sentient life in the milky way is that when their souls go into the warp upon death they become daemon fodder. The Aeldari hide from this with their hide-the-souls-in-gems trick but even that's only a temporary escape from this fate. It's not so bad for races that are not psychic because their souls dissolve extremely fast. The suffering is over quickly. However, psychic races last longer and suffer terribly. Humanity becoming psychic meant death was becoming a worse and worse fate. Add to this that they were fuelling the progression towards eventual annihilation of the milky way via a galaxy wide collapse into the warp and it becomes a case of if you could possibly do something to prevent this, why wouldn't you? It's the worst fate possible that you'd be trying to prevent

I would love to see a return of the Olamic Quietude, i like the idea of a semi-Necron civilization they made, tho in the book was never reveal what was the meaning of the artifical moon they was preparing to send to Terra, if was a library with all their knoweldge or was a bomb...what you could expect from the wolves, they just drop that down like a slam dunk in the planet. But regardless it will be fun to see some small remanets of that societity appears on the 40M with the Interex.

If the Interex is reintroduced. It will prove beyond a doubt that GW has run out of ideas. First the return of the Squats, next the Interex. A small, almost throwaway part of the heresy books.

So a group responsible for horus' fall were friends with the people who caused humanity's fall and are now working with a group that's always hated the emperor, sounds about right. Why does the emperor get so much hate and people not understanding his reasons?
