What a lady! What an actress! What I love about this is that despite everything that happened with Eldorado she has no regrets about doing the show. A true class act. Such a shame what happened towards the end of its run as Eldorado had gone from being a flop to essential viewing with some great storylines.

I worked for her late husband Mike (a great guy) we were working in the Isle of man in 2002 and had the pleasure of meeting Patty when she come over for the weekend.. What a lovely lady R.I.P

I remember how furious she was when it was canceled. A reporter asked her a glib question and she went off on them, rightly so. Her comments about the trickle-down effects on the lives of the locals when the show ended show her compassion. If the press had backed off a little, especially after it began to improve under Corrinne Hollingsworth, it would have continued and most likely survived. It's interesting that almost 30 years later, people still talk about Eldorado; the same can't be said for Crossroads, Albion Market, Angels, Howard's Way - it definitely had something...

So very interesting to here what she had to say. And we learned so much about life on the show, such as everyones feelings when the show was cancelled and ofcourse life offsite in Patricia and Hilary's villa with the pool ! Another fascinating interview Dave, thanks so much!

A lovely lovely talented lady. I loved Eldorado and watched every episode and remember doing a school project about the show. They shouldn't have axed the show. I agree that starting the show in England would have been a good idea. At this time this was so much more appealing then Eastenders, Corrie, Brookside and Emmerdale at the time.

I'm really enjoying these interviews and the set tour was fantastic. A real nostalgia trip. Keep them going! Would love to hear one with Josh Nathan or Jesse Birdsall. Great shame Mr. Morrison is no longer with us, would have loved to hear what he had to say too.

Unfortunately Nathan and Jesse aren't available for interview, though they were both lovely and pass on their best wishes to Eldorado fans.

Eldorado was a brilliant show. It got me interested in learning Spanish and made me want to travel there, maybe retire there.

That was a cracking point she made about starting the show in England, setting a bit of back story, showing them go out to Spain rather than hitting viewers with a plethora of characters at once. It wasn't just inexperienced actors at first, it was badly written. Hope this series continues. I'd love an interview with Jesse Birdsall. He was great as the wideboy with a soft centre. Roland Curram would be good too: another fine actor and writer. I guess some actors don't want to talk about it though. Such a shame it developed into a decent programme and there could be potential for a re-launch. I mean if the tacky Benedorm was a success lol....

Dave James Shame but I guess it was a brutal experience for some and they don't want to talk about it. Even as a 13 year old I was very sad at its ending. My whole family stuck with it and we all felt the plug was pulled just as it was getting good. The assasination attempt on Marcus (the paintball scene: very well done), Javier the secret gay in a conservative family: brilliant. Jesse has done ok anyway. He is a very underrated actor. He was one of the few on Eldorado who got positive reviews for his part which I read at the time that he relished. Roland of course was a big actor in the 60s and writes great novels now: check them out!

She was the cutest thing back in 1967 as Julie on "The Ugliest Girl In Town". Had a crush on her. Made me appreciate all British "birds" actually.

What a show too. I am proud to say I loved the series. I watched every episode when it was first on and have this year during lockdown managed to watch it all over again. So sad it was over, the press was so unfair.

I agree! It really found its feet after a fairly limp beginning.
