Joshua trees, believe it or not, are members of the Lily family. Those square cans generally held canned meat, such as Spam or it's predecessor. The valve you found is made of bronze, a close relative of brass. Bronze is an alloy of copper and tin, while brass is an alloy of copper and zinc. Bronze withstands wear and tear better than brass, which is why it's used for wear items like valves. Often you'll find bronze valves and other fittings with brass pipe. Cool stuff this trip out!

@@JenniGives Speaking of bronze (a couple of days ago 😃 Lots of people use it for bronze brazing, with an oxyacetylene torch, to "weld" or just to fill in holes in steel. It's faster than actual welding and if the reduced strength isn't an issue it's a great metalcraft technique. I keep bronze brazing wire in stock 🙂

Jennie Paul would like one to get a canned ham at Walmarts or some other place if it is cheaper. This is similar to spam, and it has little pices of ham in it. This is to wash off this meat, that jelley is salty. Then I cook this ham again in boiling water, rinse it off with cold water to cool it down again. Then I make up grilled cheese and ham sandwiches on whole wheat bread. Sour dough bread is better to make up if one has a starter going. And sourdough can make pizzia, rolls, and bread. Girlinthewoods will show one how to make up a starter and the bread and pizzia. Fridays is pizzia day at her place. I like the indian fry bread on Fridays too. I carried these cannned hams in my back pack with other heavy canned goods walking up a 14000 foot mountain in Colorado. I got to within one mile of the top of Pikes Peak it snowed up to my waist in fifteen minutes or less. I had to go back down and the range saw me on the path and he some others came looking for me. Keep on a hiking too. Paul in Ohio kzitem.info/news/bejne/ooCl2WukbJSkqpg kzitem.info/news/bejne/pHemnoB3m3pefKg Pikes Peak is good to hike in the middle of July and I go in at two bells in the morning with head lights on good boots and a backpack loaded with stuff. kzitem.info/news/bejne/y519l3t7oJFolG0 Oh on my facebook pages is a little picture there for one about Love. Paul Fish on facebook.com. Just right click on the little picture and save it. i get this stuff from pinterest.com. In August in Britt, Iwoa is the hobo retreat or whatever and they are going to have a celebration for Mark and his headstone will be placed there. 22 soldiers a day take their lives in the USA. Mark may of Jumped into the Lake on purpose. I got kicked out of the service yet I refuse to give up. Many people took time out of their lives to be helpful to me when I most needed the help too. They litterally saved my life. I cannot be grateful enough. I tried to thank these people and many of them just smillled back at me. We are to help others too.
