Prince rupert drops would be a huge upgrade over ceramic tiles if they could be produced without a tail end. The combination of internal stresses exerting force outwards, the external stresses exterting forces inwards, and the spherical geometry of a prince rupert drop basically make them indestructible. I've seen a few videos where prince rupert drops are quenched in liquid nitrogen. It has the effect of making PRD's that don't shatter when the tail end is broken. These beads are so tough that they have no trouble shattering a 7.62mm projectile thats fired at them. If I could produce small quenched glass beads without a tail end and locked them into epoxy to make up the first layer of a ballistic vest do you think it could out perform ceramic tiles?

@@qwe304 The 1.4 million unit procurement was publicly announced, so I don't think it is fake. The reason they don't wear them regularly might be due to the fact that ceramic plates are very prone to damage, and they are quite expensive, especially with silicon carbide or boron carbide plates.

@@botwally2954 yes, and the Russians also planed to procure 2,300 t-14 armata tanks. They ended up with 20. And given the performance of imported Chinese armor so far, I'm not expecting much.

So your saying the adoption 6.8x51 fairly pointless and M855A1 works just the same after multiple shots. So, I'll keep my 5.56 with low recoil and hit the tap button until the Commie falls down.

Since February 24th 2022, everything made in Russia is actually MADE IN UKRAINE!! Bet you didn't know that, but it's true. Ukraine owns Russia and Russia simply doesn't exist because everything there was automatically turned into Ukraine. Shocking news!!!!!
