This video series has been undertaken by the Department of English, Mizoram University in connection with the departmental UGC SAP DRS II project entitled "Situating the Mizo/Zohnahthlak in Mizoram and Manipur : A Study of the Historical and Socio-Cultural Process of Emergent Identities from Orality to Writing". The series has also been launched in commemoration of the Ruby Jubilee celebrations of the Department of English (1979 - 2019), Mizoram University.
Rev. Dr. Lalchungnunga currently teaches Understanding Indian Society, at Bachelor of Divinity and Bachelor of Missiology programmes at Aizawl Theological College and Missionary Training College, Aizawl as a Contract Professor. His book titled Politics of Regionalism and National Integration was published in 1994. He has also presented several papers on socio-political, religious and missiological issues at local, national and international level seminars and workshops. He has also delivered speeches and sermons in various meetings, church services, conferences and retreats within India and abroad. He is one of the few experts in the field of identity, nationalism and regionalism in the context of the Mizo.
He taught Political Science at Government Aizawl College between 1976 and 1991. He was Development Secretary at Interserve India, New Delhi from 1991 to 1994, Principal of Serampore College, Hooghly from 1999 to 2011 and Chairman of Mizoram Board of School Education from 2012 to 2017. He was also Founder President of Mizoram College Teachers’ Association (MCTA) and Evangelical Teachers’ Fellowship (ETF). He was awarded an honorary degree of Doctor of Divinity by William Carey University, Mississippi in 2011 and was also recipient of Best Principals Award given by the All India Association of Christian Higher Education in 2003.
