How about a cheach? 3/4 cherry, 1/4 peach, but still hairy. Is that a thing because I want it. Alternative name: the hairy cherry.

Usually, when we say "cherry" (within the context of fruit), we are referring to sweet cherries and pie (or sour) cherries. Sweet Cherry = Prunus avium. Pie Cherry = Prunus cerasus.

i have most of the plums mixtures you have showed, the pluerry are very sweet and firm. All are good dried also and don't forget if you have to many you can always make wine out of them. Raintree nursery and one green world both have a good selection to order from.

Fascinating -- I never heard of most of these. Thanks for posting. Two suggestions that will help you get more YT views -- add the tree names to your description and keywords. and add a chapter for each tree. (It's very simple to do and there are tons of YT tutorials on it.) Do this for your all your videos as well.

Hello Dear, Just curious how much chill time these trees need? I'm in Windermere, Florida zone 9b USA 🇺🇸 We might have 150 hours
@PlantFanatics
2 жыл бұрын
I would say on average they need about 450 chill hours. It all depends on specific varieties though, of which there are many of each. I'm sure they have varieties now that would need a very small number of chill hours for zone 9.

It all depends on the varieties you choose to go with. With the amount of trees bred at this point I'm sure there are many of each. My video is really to bring awareness to the hybrids in general, and not necessarily to go over specific varieties. Thank you so much for watching the video! Happy growing!

It would really be helpful if we knew what agricultural zone they would grow in. Some of these may not be able to take the heat of more southern zones.
@PlantFanatics
2 жыл бұрын
If you get the chill hours then the heat won’t be an issue. This video was intended to show that these types of hybrid trees existed. There are many different cultivars of these plants available with different chill hours.

What is the deal with their seeds? Are they viable, is there alot of genetic drift making these trees essentially clone/cutting only.
@PlantFanatics

I’m assuming its only though cuttings.

Bloom time, if I am still below freezing at bloom time, wont it just wait until it is warm enough and just ripen later then you r ripening time?
@PlantFanatics
2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! That’s exactly what’s going to happen for you. We’ve had weather that warmed up for a few weeks and even caused them to flower too early before. So yes, you’re right about that.
