SINGOSARI TEMPLE
Singosari Temple is located in Candi Renggo Village, Singosari District, Malang Regency, about 9 km from the center of Malang city. The temple, which was restored by the Dutch East Indies government, also has the name Cungkup Temple or Menara Temple, presumably this temple was the tallest temple in its era, moreover it is said that the surrounding area is also believed to be a complex of temples. However, for now there is only one temple left, namely Singosari Temple.
It is not known exactly when this temple was built, but the strongest assumption is from 1300 AD, as an offering to honor King Kertanegara of Singhasari. This temple has a Shiva tantric school, not only its iconography shows the influence of tantra, but also on its pages there are several Shiva statues as well as Buddhist statues, for example Prajnaparamitha.
It turns out that there are many unique facts of Indonesian history that deserve our attention, of course with a new perspective. For example, about the Hindu-Buddhist kingdom in Indonesia, the Hindu-Buddhist kingdom in the archipelago, ancient Javanese philosophy, ancient Javanese philosophy, and even Javanese habits in ancient Javanese culture, both in the form of writing and temples.
