It reminds me of the original Airfix 1/72 Buccaneer NA39 kit, which had folding wings, nose, opening dive brakes and rotating bomb bay door (just like the real thing!). Also the Revell 1/32 Seafire I'm currently doing, which is about +50 years old, which has retracting landing gear, moving flaps, sliding canopy and removable panels to view the Merlin engine. The kits were designed for the younger age group before the hobby became too serious. There were unsightly gaps everywhere in order to facilitate the moving parts. It's just how it was. I don't think I've seen so many negative comments about any kit on the 'net as about the Revell Corsair you're building (not your build Gavin) mostly because it is, or was until recently, still in their catalogue with a ridiculously high RRP.

Hi Neil, oh that old Buccaneer kit, I've got fond memories of it. Last time I built that I was 16. My nephew destroyed it when he decided to play with it, he was only 4 😂. These old 1/32 kits from revell are very basic for the scale, but as you've said they were meant for kids to build. I picked up a couple of their 1/32 series around 6 years ago for about £20 each in a sale. I didn't realise at the time how much of a bargain that was compared to the normal retail prices. Unfortunately revell have form for this. But I've only seen these kits being sold for full price online. Just yesterday when I was editing the videos for my latest build, the Millennium falcon 1/144 how much I paid for that one. Retail it was £110 I paid around £90 thinking it was a high end kit, the box says it's a limited edition form the master. series. Turns out the kit was from their snap kit range, design for beginners and kids to build. To say I wasn't happy would be an understatement. Thanks for watching and the continued support.
