Thanks for the video! I just bought this grill hoping to use it tomorrow.. until i get a cover ... I have a quick question.. between wood chips and charcoal which one is better for searing? From this video i really like the big fire created by the the chips.

Having had the grill for a while now. I usually do both. Charcoal base with some chips sprinkled on. The charcoal has an even heat and the chips give a great burst of fire and flavor.

Excellent demo for the chops. Not an experienced smoker myself yet, and look forward to using your method on the chops.

are the temps on the surface pretty even? or is there a big difference between the side of the fire box and the opposite side. If you load up the grill do you have to rotate the meat side to side not just flip

Johnny Kratsas there’s some difference, but the way the heat plates are formed. It’s pretty even. There’s a bigger swing in me barrel smoker. Check out the burger video. I set on sear and grilled on the Woodcreek.

So those wires can take that heat while is closed?

REAL GAMEPLAY definitely. Make sure you use a glove or tongs to remove them since they get hot.

Are you using wood pellets while you're cooking before the sear?

@@chefsbonus7696 One more question for you. People say that they don't like the bigger temperature increments. Is is hard set to those increments or can you set the dial in between those increments to the temp you want? That probably sounds like a dumb question, but I haven't owned something like this, so I want to know before I buy this.

Mike B I understand what you’re saying. The Woodcreek starts at 200 degrees and goes up by 25 degree increments. So it can’t be set at custom temps. However, once set, it holds the temps for hours really steady with little variance. I find it’s great for smoking because there isn’t temperature swings. I use the app and save the temperature graph on really good cooks.
