@PapaP86

It's just pointless. I'd rather have a number of 4 cylinder turbo cars like the Focus ST, Focus ST, Fiesta ST, Veloster N, WRX, etc. If you're going to have a muscle car, anything except a VW is just like, "why?" Smaller, lighter cars with a 4 cylinder are more fun as well as more practical. If you're going to get something impractical, go all the way at least.

This is a great review! As crazy as the GT might be on the street it still looks like a lot of fun. The Ecoboost is a great platform to start modifying, although the GT is ready to go fast right from the factory. Either one looks like a fun car!

Hey guys just wanted to say I went with a 2017 Ecoboost Premium and despite getting caught in traffic most days I've been averaging 26 mpg overall after about 3,000 miles of driving. Driving it in the NYC area has been really great for me. It's my first car on a long list of cars that I'd like to buy and I think starting out with it was the right call. Great video as always, I used it while doing research on my car choice.

Most Honda 4's from the 80's and 90's sounded wonderful. The Saab 900 turbo, any Lancia, the Fiat 500 Abarth, 2015 WRX, The Alfa 4c..........thats all I have. I did get my BRZ to sound very good by plugging the sound tube and adding a Tekada air intake. I messed up the sound slightly when I added a Borla cat-back.

Great reviews, man. Keep up the good work. I love the discussions of the suspension while underneath the car. Almost nobody else does that. Now as for your criticism of the GT's handling: If you have a 400+ hp V8, you can't go into a corner off throttle in the rain then stab the throttle mid-corner. Even the most controlled cars will yaw violently under those conditions. In other words, your statement that you have no confidence in the GT's handling would apply to any other high-horsepower, rear-drive car.

An ecoboosted v6 cyclone engine would likely wind up being faster than the naturally aspirated v8 coyote haha It sadly seems like Ford is phasing out the v6 for Mustangs, which is why you can't even get the premium interior with the v6 on the new S550s. A huge shame because the v6 cyclone is an absolute beast for a v6.

Your experience with the gt in the rain is right on the nose. The car feels like it wants to kill you all the time lmao. And I can tell from the beginning of you driving till the end you learned the same lesson that all other gt drivers in the rain learn, the car will not be pushed in the rain. One time I was driving home in the rain getting onto an onramp for the freeway. I hear an Audi floor it as it tries to fly past me, I knew I probably had the hp advantage so I also floored it. My car went sideways instantly, I let off and tried again, and the same result. The Audi flew past me as I spun lmao. On the dry this car rips tho!

Everybody is so quick to call blasphemy on the EcoBoost when the SVO is one of the rarest and most coveted Mustang models in history. Personally, I love the EcoBoost and what it represents. Ford isn't yanking the GT from production, it's just another option. And the mustang has been all about options from the very beginning. Not like the GT was ever very good at anything except being poorly built and noisy until recent years, haha. Another thing that bothers the fuck out of me about people sobbing over the EcoBoost is that the Mustang itself isn't a "muscle car". The v6 Challenger isn't a "muscle car". The v6 Camaro isn't a "muscle car". They're standard coupes with no muscle. The v8 variants of these vehicles are the ones with "muscle". _Nobody_ that knows cars ever calls the v6 variants of these vehicles muscle cars, haha. "Hey Jack, cool convertible! What is it? Mustang v6? Sweet muscle car, bro!"

savagegeese Right on, man. I've got a gorgeous little sundress that make my eyes POP, we're gonna _kill it_! Too bad they don't have a Mustang cabriolet or targa :'( Jokes aside, I can appreciate tradition and the value in upholding it. So it's not like I don't know where the muscle worshipers are coming from. But history has proven time and again that innovation and experimentation can produce worthwhile results. I'm excited to see how nasty the EcoBoost can be made with modifications. Besides, the GT isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Thanks for the video, great work as usual. I'm not sure if you've touched on any of these vehicles before, but have you considered something like a Fiesta ST vs Sonic RS? I'd be interested in knowing your opinions on them.

Given that it's been a few years since you guys produced this video, I wonder if you've got insight about this LSPI issue afflicting the EcoBoosts? From what I understand, it's something that affects direct injection turbo charged engines, and not exclusive to the EcoBoosts alone, however, tall gear WOT apparently spells disaster for the motor; I'm not as proficient a stick shift driver as you are, but if you're on the highway and one may forget to downshift to 5th to overtake someone, I'd hate to think that I'm going to spell the end for an extremely expensive car (subjectively) for something somewhat minor. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Eddie Becerra it definitely does. One time we took a road trip 600 miles total, 4 people, trunk full of luggage, and drove it around the city for the weekend, and when we got back it got 31 mpg for the whole trip.

22:15 WTF was that- I'm only about 5 years late in making this comment. New or old reviews, I always enjoy watching Mark's Savage Geese Reviews and see how much he's evolved into a great car reviewer!

I think your traction issues in the GT are likely tire related. Mine was scary until I put really light wheels with Yoko Advan 255 front/275 rears on it. Totally different car. It originally had some shitty Pirelli pzeros on it and I felt like every drop of water on the road was going to spin me.

I appreciated the production value, but I could not take the review seriously when you guys are giggling and the mechanic is making snarky remarks about the technology while under the car. Just my opinion, but for me it tainted the review by making it appear unprofessional and biased.

This review was quite serious about a car that is great yet severally flawed. To not point out things like the fact it is built on a complete budget platform with cost cutting all over is not being honest. We are not fan boys of any car anymore. We have a GT350R video coming out that will discuss much of the same. The end result is excellent but there is a ton of room for improvement in terms of chassis, body structure, interior and fit and finish everywhere.

Seriously one of the best Mustang reviews I've seen. I especially like how they brought up the issues with the eco boost engine. No one else has even mentioned it. Keep it up.. You'll be big time soon!

The overall exterior design is a complete disaster. The only relatively attractive part is the taillights. The interior is also a disaster. Ford needs to consider what the car would look like in 20 years and design it now and maybe then they will have caught up with the rest of the world.

Dammit I like the new Mustang, but here in the diesel-loving, petrol loathing UK, it only really makes sense to get the ecoboost. Also, dammit I can't find that cover of wild horses anywhere! Help, please?

I pulled the sound tube, replaced the resonator with Ford Racing X pipe with the Borla GT axle back mufflers, and added the catch can. 19,000 miles and zero issues.

Great review! ( not those sales person review) It was scary watching how the GT behave on that wet road. I' ll have to think twice when driving my ordered Mustang GT in the wet. Overall I think Ford should offer 'Savagegeese' a position to further improve the Mustang. The Mustang is a very clever car or is it cleverly marketed car? Probably both?

Your reviews stand (bald) head and shoulders above the rest. And they keep getting better and better. The in-depth info, your buttery-smooth delivery, and the nifty production value all just work. Bravo. But more importantly ... when are you gonna get your hands on a 2016 Miata? That extravaganza will be 35 minutes of bliss.
