Great car! But they should have moved the home button from right to left when they moved the driver seat to the left. Very simple thing to do. Am I wrong? The infotainment interface is still for right hand side drivers in Australia.

I wouldn’t if I were you. $65,000 plus on road costs for a unknown brand new in the market isn’t the way to go. The fake exhaust sound that comes out of the speakers is just poor and ridiculous. The aircon climate control is not visible at night plus it’s touch screen.

Will sell well as long as Cupra dealers don’t follow VAG dealer mark ups of $10-15K in current market - Seat launched and failed long ago in our market with a less cohesive range and Cupra range much more targeted to what we buy as Spanish sporty VAG products there is much to like imho 👍🥳

Correct, as with what we've seen with most other euro brands the mark ups are absurd over the RRP, the only downside is that we dont get the full fat 5 Pot version.. But for low 70's it could be quite the catch.

7.7l/100km is pretty darn amazing for a car that size really. Never mind its power and torque etc. I think its a winner. You need to spend $100k for Audi or BMW or Merc equivalent in performance.

It does not "rely" on fake induction noise, it's something people like and you can disable it if you don't. If you want barking you can still get the 5-cylinder version I guess.

Lol I couldn’t agree more with you! It’s an unknown brand new in the car market. Spending $65,000 to $70,000 on a new car brand isn’t wise. At the end of the day it’s a SEAT. It’s like dressing up a donkey in a horse skin to make it look good. Still is a donkey inside that skin.

'The future is electric'. I suspect this will be so should the government take away choice and do a choke on diesel and petrol. That said, Hybrid makes sense though PHEV and EV are not for me.

I dont dislike this car, actually quite like it - saying that its hugely polarising and will NOT age well with time . Also there are now better competitors to audis and VWs who prowide better quality, durability ,reliability ant cheaper prices . Point being - with cost of living rising, disposable income shrinking , economy being shaky - market you are looking at is tiny. Skoda suffered the same fate ...is Cupra going to be next !!!

Not with the way they're selling, they have been hugely popular especially for a new brand entering the market. Mind you most buying know what they're about and the platform. Also Skoda have been doing well anyway.

Ummm and Kona N is slower 0-100km (5.5 vs 4.9) and only front wheel drive and no rear vents for passengers and less fuel efficient, no adaptive suspension, much less passenger and storage room, no auto tailgate ( if I remember correctly) and the list goes on. You get what you pay for. They both look great though , IMO.

@@yowie6747 rear vents are called roll the window down. fuel efficiency depends on the person driving with the N products, yes it has adaptive suspension. there is no way a formentor is putting down quicker laps than a Kona N.

@@JC94 The Kona N is only front wheel drive FFS . Find me comparison where Kona N is quicker (on any track or in a straight line) than the Formentor or T Roc R for that matter. I’ve driven the N and the Formentor, sorry power and handling Formentor wins. I don’t dislike the Kona N ( and it has some cool colours ) but Formentor and T Roc R kick the Kona N’s butt in every area but price. Do a comparison on Redbook , its not hard. Have you even driven a Formentor?

A note to the OZ s reading this.. Its an awesome car but for many just on paper. Continuous delivery delays and ghosting by Cupra are the Order of the day. Atrocious. Beats me how they are trying to break i juri Australia when they are incapable is servicing their home continent!!

Let’s see competitive pricing backed by one of the most respected brands in the world, no material dealers in the country so extremely low overheads, a RRP only approach so no dealer markup, free 3 year servicing at any Volkswagen group dealership. 5 year warranty on one of the most reliable platforms, and has managed to sit by itself in a crowded but popular segment. But no destined to flop for sure, a bit like you using “ instead of ‘ in it’ll.

Most people interested in them know what they are and the platform which will be the same on the used market. Can't see them flopping when they've already had an immense amount of interest and getting glowing reviews. They look better inside and out than their VAG siblings and Formentor is more fun to drive due to its chassis tune.
