I agree that it was a difficult read, but in the end, I loved this book. Life can be so hard, and one thing I took from the story is how important it is to see others through the eyes of compassion. From the outside, we often don't know what people are going through, and sometimes "bad" behavior is really people hanging on by a thread and doing the best they can to just keep going. This story was so impactful to me. Like you, I don't know that I would want to read it again, but it will stick with me for a long time. I also think it would be an excellent book for a book club to read together because there is just so much to discuss. I can see how it would elicit strong feelings from the readers- positive or negative. I found myself wishing that I had someone to talk to about it, so I was happy to hear your opinion in this video. I listened to the audio book version, and the narrator was excellent too (in case anyone might be interested in this format). Thanks for sharing!

I loved this book - so glad you did too! After reading many reviews I feel like most people did not enjoy it. I could identify with many of Grace's midlife troubles and although this was a difficult read, I felt Grace dealt with her problems as best as she knew how and life is never perfect. Humor gets us through difficult moments and it's important to accept people as they are and enjoy life for what it is.

I’m glad to hear it was impactful, and also appreciate you sharing that it is not a light read, as the cover is a bit deceiving. Now if I can find the elusive “right time” to read it 😮

It's interesting that you almost DNF this book. I did DNF it, but maybe I'll give it another try.

It is a hard read and I wasn't ready for that, but definitely blew me away.
