Started watching your videos a few weeks back. Went down to Islamorada for my birthday weekend(I live 2 hours north on the east coast). Brought my kayak, a light spinner, and my flyrod. Took pointers from you about catching nice mangrove snapper around mangroves and managed to catch myself and family dinner for my birthday which pleased me immensely. So thanks for the videos they helped alot.

RikkiTikkiTavi you catch any on fly? They fight really good on the buggy whip!

I got some smaller ones around 10 inches on fly but was trying for the big ones and the area I was fishing had all the fish piled up under the tree cover so it wasn't an easy presentation. Biggest one I got was 17 1/2 inches on a whole sand perch. Was so cool to see it come out and smack the bait and run for the trees. Lost two much larger ones as well.

Had a bit of a scare when a good sized bonnethead came in and attacked my chumbag while my back was turned.

Great deal. That makes my day reading these success stories. Bringing home dinner makes you a hero to the family. LOL. Those big ones like that are smart. Good job.

Nice video. I have the same rod, but I'm pretty sure it's made for spinning reels, and underneath????

From my understanding those rods are actually Trevala blanks built to BassPros specs . I have quite a few of them including two of the models in the video and never had a problem with any of them . The good thing is if you have a problem you can return it to any BPS and they'll replace it

Maybe you should’ve grabbed the medium or medium heavy rod? I’m thinking about buying this rod at the moment.

Hey Steve, huge fan here. I've been a fan for awhile now and I was just given the 7" 0M30STA ocean master. When I googled it your vid came up. I paired it with a penn battle 2 8000 for Cobia and bull red drum for when I go to the outer banks nc. I go to the keys every winter and was wondering how do you think it would fair up? Couldn't think of anyone better to ask lol. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

I cut that finger grip off and filed it down smooth. Put electrical tape over the threads. Good vid

I bought a Ugly Stik Tiger Light jigging rod rated at #50 #100. I've caught small fish and pretty big ones with it. The crazy thing is that I got it new for $35 at my local Wallymart.
