Oh, my darling! By the Beatles. Nice job. One of the early songs that introduced the 1 5 6 (relative minor) 4 chord pattern to the world. That has dominated popular music since the early 90s..... An inversion of the 1950s Doo Wop 1 6 (relative minor) 4 5 pattern. Crazy how much those two patterns show up.

John had the order that the Skylark came out versus the original Mercury, which is over a decade old. The Skylark is still a relatively new amp, and this V is the younger brother to both.

seriously considered/considering this amp, but at $2700 i'm guessing Carr has not conquered economy of scale, Morgan mvp23 at $1700, immense bang for buck, in any manufacturing ecosystem, economy of scale is the holy grail, just saying
@DSilvergun

Boutique amp makers can't really do EoS. None of these companies have more than a handful of employees. If you want EoS go to Marshall, Fender, or Vox.
@marknorris3769
7 жыл бұрын
hmm imo eos is more complex and more simple, i'm well aware that Carr is mom and pop, and awesome, but how can they get to economy of scale , without outsourcing to china, they perfected the mouse trap, but at $2700 for this amp, a slow death is structurally built into that price point, when you are mom and pop, it's hard to layoff friends, to manufacture in china, a Carr Mercury V made in china for half, is still exactly the same amp .
@bobboitt3126

It sounds like a lot but many players blow more cash than that on a good PRS or even a Les Paul Standard. Its a do it all amp that will last a lifetime.
@telekmetyk

I have the previous version of this amp, and being located in Australia paid way more than the 2700 price but I have to say it was totally worth the cost. It's an amazing amp. Carr amps are also point to point hand wired which is a different construction type than the Morgans.
