Thank you for your feedback! like the all black as well, but I picked out a different pair/color. I’m super excited! The Moxi’s weight I do like but I’m interested in something lighter and comfortable while still sturdy supportive and long lasting. Your skating in this video is smooth.

I’m really wanting to upgrade to a new boot! I have Lolly’s now but I need more support in the ankle. I was thinking about getting the jackboot before but now that I’ve seen this video I might change my mind. Once you skate on them for a while can you do an update on how the two compare and what you’d recommend?

Yes, we did another video a month ago comparing Bont Parkstars to Moxi Jacks! These vegan Bont Parkstars are great, very tough, confortable and well made...i have been skating them almost daily at the parks and on the streets. You could totally skate them at the rink too but i have not since i prefer jam skates with ankle freedom at the rink🤗

Hows the width on these skates? I have more friends f a D width foot and found the stock Jackboots are too narrow unless I customize them which adds $100 to the boot. Gets expensive when you also want a color option that isn’t Black or Jade.

Bonts are definitely wider in toe box than Moxi/Riedell boots. On the Bont website there are very specific measuring instructions to find your perfect fit🤗

Hi! Thank you for doing this video and please update ud undo again soon. Do you think that a riser would seat/fit well in the heel? Any other options to increase the heel height? I have chaya karmas and i adore them but if there is a comparable vegan option then I should go that route. My daughter is strictly vegan and doesn't want to wear my karmas, but she grew out of old ones and she shreds, so she needs something shredworthy. She's borrowing my karmas. Not actually sure if she still has the risers in them. With the karmas, I had difficulty adjusting to the flatness of the heel versus a heeled skate and I put a riser on the inside. The boot feels fine though i know it could fit better, but I'm not falling backward anymore. And if you can't tell by my lengthy message, i an lit on coffee. Go nuggets!!

Yes, we did another video about a month after this one comparing Bont Parkstars to Moxi Jacks, so check that one out too! Have not tried a heel riser but we always replace the flimsy sole inserts in the skate boots with much better athletic insoles, so you could probably add one with a riser. Don't know if there is a slight heel built into the Chayas but there is a very small one (23mm) built into the Bont Parkstars😄

did you keep your plate size the same between the heeled skate and the flatter skate? I've heard the bonts run short and some plates are too small. Not sure whether to order my plate at the correct wheelbase length, or to go by the plate's boot size recommendation.
@KevJaz
3 жыл бұрын
I did keep the same plates and switched them to the new boots. My plates are Reactor Neo size 6 and Bont Parkstars are size 5.5, i measured according to instrucciones on Bont website for correct fit since Bonts size differently!

I've been really thinking about these, I haven't skated in a very long time. I plan on just leisure skating maybe some grooving do you think these would be good for a newbie? I wanted ankle support but not super constricting. Also would I be able to add an insole for more comfort? Ty for posting this!

Yes, these are very comfy for leisure skating, we both added insoles to ours for extra comfort. Parkstars offer great ankle support but not as much or as high up as artistic skates.

Hey! I've seen you mentioning athletic insoles a lot, which ones do you get? Do they need to be specific skating insoles? Like another commenter, I'm worried about the width at the toes because I have really narrow feet and I like a snug fit. Maybe insoles could help?
@KevJaz

They don't have to be specific for skating, we usually get Dr.Scholls brand which is easy to find, as long aa they are made for running/sports!🤗

How would you compare the Bont skates to your VNLA jam skates. I'm trying to decide between the 2. I am looking to replace my older carrera skates because they are hurting my ankles and feet. I mostly skate at the rink, but have started outdoor as well with outdoor wheels. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
@KevJaz
3 жыл бұрын
The VNLA boots are very soft with no ankle support so the ankles are free to move for dance/jam skating, which i like at the rink. The Bont Parkstars are stiff and supportive for the foot and ankle which i prefer for park and street skating...it probably depends what you do more of since they are each made for different purposes, hope that helps!😊

Those boots look super sharp. I like em. I understand that strap is removable. Is that correct and how does that effect the fit? How is the padding in the footbed? Cushy? Sorry, lol. Did y'all heat mold them at all?

Yes, you can remove the strap if you want a looser for around the ankle🤗

Sorry did not see the other questions before! The insoles that come with them are filmsy like other boots, we swap them out for good athletic insoles. We heat molded them by just skating and sweating in them, they can be heat molded in oven as well!
