In Europe for 300$ you can get a Bresser (ES in Europe) 102/1000 mm achromat refractor with EQ3 mount.

It's great to see new videos uploaded here :-) About the eyepieces: As a beginner, I felt that a low magnification helps with the orientation in the sky when changing from the viewfinder to the telescope. I've chosen a 32mm. There are also 40mm eyepieces for 1.25" but their apparent field of view is a bit smaller so I thought that the area they show is bigger, but not by the same extent that the magnification is lower.

Thanks! Life got in the way of doing too much with my videos but things seem to have given me a little time now I can devote to it. I hope to add a lot more in the coming months. If there is a topic you would find interesting, let me know.

@@AllanHall I'd like to hear some of your thoughts and recommendations about magnifications that make sense without ending up with a bag full of eyepieces and still keep buying additional ones. You already made videos about eyepieces but as far as I remember them, they are kept more general. I've seen calculations (e.g. exit pupil or things like magnification=diameter) but how many and how to place the steps from one to another? What magnification (or, together with the apparent field of view, what field of view) makes sense for different objects? E.g. Andromeda and Pleiades are quite large and planets are quite small. Or is it much simpler and the answer is "If the low power eyepiece works for you, then don't bother"? ;-)

I just recently "inherited " a very much older model with a wooden stand. It really needs to be deep cleaned and the lenses have dirt on them inside the tube. How do I go about getting them cleaned or who can I contact to put me in the right direction and where can I order eyepieces from (was stored in an out building )

Do I need a specific brand of a barlow lens to use on this telescope or can I just use any barlow lens?

Hi Allen great video, I’m very much a beginner when it comes to scopes, so I need to ask is a Hyperion aspheric 31 mm 72 degree eye piece compatible with a smaller scope like this? Thanks

That may be a little big for this little scope but if you are careful with it you might get some nice views! Just remember that the focuser on this telescope is all plastic and that is a large and heavy eyepiece.

For a telescope in that price range they are pretty good. Even better with upgraded eyepieces.
