I am just at the point of getting a scooter myself and have just seen the royal alloy in my local market, and wondered what they were because they do have the Lammy look as you call it ,so what are they like for comfort over the longer rides, also do you know if there are any particular faults to be concerned about ref, breakdowns etc, PS I usually watch your plumbing video,s and had no idea you were a scooter man until i found this cheers .

Hi Peter, the RA 300 is very much like a GTS 300 Vespa, very smooth and fast. Two up no problem. For me it is the one to have. Still loving it.

Hi, I see you have the SX arrow flash on the side. All other reviews state the side panels do not have, or come, with flashes.Did those come with the scooter. Did Carnaby scoot shop fix SX ones. What's going on ??? Cheers

Great review. Good too see an original mod too. I’ve got a GP 125 on order. Should be hear in next couple of weeks. I’ve had Vespas on and off since the 80s. Including 2 GTS.

@@markharvey7003 None in in my experience. Appart from a cable behind headset being ripped into. Soon remedied from scooter dealer. Other have had a share of problems I believe. But generally they’re very good scooters. Best thing to do if you’re concerned is to join the Royal Alloy group ( uk based one) on Facebook. 99% people seem happy with theirs. Any problems, issues or help you need advice on them is well discussed on there. Generally very friendly bunch too. Group is called “Royal Alloy Owners club official”.

Hi Al I was a scooter rider from 1970. Saw the gp200 a few weeks ago in lakes and thought looked really good. I fancy go 300 but cannot get a test drive in north east - have to travel to Rochdale. Just wondered what your views are now seeing you have been riding it for a while many thanks mal

Hi love the review you went a long way to pick up your scooter are you going to take it back for services I am looking at the TG 300 but no dealers near me so a bit of putting I understand the screen does not fit the TG yet safe riding and merry Christmas stay safe all the best one last do you ever do the Isle of Wight rally

Hi there. Been riding motorbikes 30 years, never had a scooter. Really like the look of these and reviews seem very positive. Can you comfortably cruise at say 60 mph on these? In other words can they keep up with traffic safely?

Thanks for sharing OG my name is Mack born and raised here in Los Angeles California I'm 52 year's old now had my first scooter in 1984 a Honda Aero before that I had a Puch and Peugeot mopeds 🤣 and all motorcycles from 50cc 2 stroke to 1300cc Hayabusas nevertheless you give the best advice being you been owning and riding the Original 2 Stroke scooters to today's 4 Stoke fuel injections looking at your collection and respect for your age I'm definitely buying me a Royal Alloy GP-300 for my daily commute here in Los Angeles California for me and my 14 year old son now we have the new 300cc Scooter's I'll doubt I'll ever buy a car again living in Los Angeles RA all the way 😁😁😁😁😁🤓😇

Hi Dave yes the skelly is Chinese. Re-tuned the thing for fast acceleration. Nothing over 50 though.

I have a guts Vespa 300 for the same reasons and I have a one off 650 scrambler twin that used to be a triumph lookalike again wanted reliable transport, but I may get a lambretta in near future to rebuild,good review said what needed saying

Nice review, I love the look of the RA’s but unfortunately at 6’1’’ the space between the seat, floor and bars makes them too small for me. I’m on a Yamaha XMAX 300 due to it having the extra luggage and fuel capacity over both the RA’s and the GTS, but I’d love to get myself an RA for a weekend ride. Enjoyed the video, cheers and ride safe

I can tell you now that alot of RA riders complain because the scooter sits very high and quite wide too, so if you haven't sat on one yet , give it a try. The bench seat on a GT125 also will allow you to sit back as far as you need. As far as luggage,,, well , no comment.

@@fishface20077002 I was the lack of space between my knees and the bars which was my problem, it was very cramped and the bars touched my knees when I’d turn the bars. But I’m still hankering after one as a retirement present in three yrs 😂

I had vespa px200 back in the early 80s was the best scooter ever, then got the T5, I had a lambetetta but not reliable!!! Ah bring back the time when I went on the rallies.

I have used a piece of guttering screwed on, so it does not get covered in mud, but there is still enough air to cool.

Have they sorted the front end suspension?.. I have a GT 200...and it is in bits after a year..the anti dive caliper was seized from day one...( a common problem I'm led to believe)and the bike is ruined now ..forks bent, frame split ,bearings bust..I couldn't give it away ..a disgrace...

I thought the RA was British built?. And just put together overseas. Ps, me & my partner are both going for our full license soon from an A2 license.. We both want a nice easy going automatic scooter with a bit of poke & also looks good. We're not really Mods, bit both like the look of this RA gp 300s. And we just want something for cruising around on. Does this scooter offer a bit of poke with it being a 300cc? It's not just your typical slow scooter, no?
