What bass frequency are you boosting with the Boss pedal? It sounds great!

I'm sorry, I can't tell you the exact frequency - it's a parametric eq, so I tend to boost a little, then sweep the frequency until I find what sounds good. I also have to be careful not to boost too much!

Hi, Just one question. Are you satisfied with this pedal? I'm planning to buy one. It seems so good. But is it ok in live shows? Thanks for your video. Informative.

Good question! To be honest, I've been using my Tech21 MP40. I'll pull the Pork & Pickle out again tonight - I've been using a different distortion stacked after the MP40 but it's not letting enough of the full bottom end of the MP40 thru - maybe it's time to go back to the P&P! I really can't comment for live use since I haven't been able to play with anyone since the pandemic started.

@@hieronymous7 Thank you for your quick and honest answer. I will give a chance to the P&P.

I pulled out my P&P - I am still impressed with the low end it lets through. I find that the clean tone knob is really important - set it near zero and you're down in the bass frequencies - it's almost like it has a bump at the frequency. Distortion is a very personal thing - personally, I love it! But to toggle between a clean tone and distortion is not easy, especially playing with other people. What kind of music do you play?

@@hieronymous7 Thank you for these info. I play mostly rock. I would like to give some dirt to my sound sometimes and it also would be great to combine the P&P with other pedals like octaver or envelope filter. Maintain the low end is important to me not to be lost in the mix. So it's a good news that P&P has great low end. Thank you again for your answer. It helped me a lot.

For light/mild overdrive , do you think this pedal have a great low/dry signal? For bass player the dry signal is important.. do you think the dry signal is enough? Thanks

I hear you - you are right about the dry signal. I believe that this pedal can deliver, but I have never used it through an amp. The "clean tone" mini-knob is interesting - I think it gives a slight boost at the cutoff. So I was turning it down low to maybe 2:00? Gives a nice fat sound with the overdriven signal on top. But take this with a grain of salt! I will try and experiment over the next few weeks - my drummer may be coming to town!

@@hieronymous7 Thanks Hieronymous7 for the kind reply. So i watched the other video of this pedal, about the clean blend. If you turn full clockwise = more dry signal. If you turn CCW = No dry at all. Is it true? Can't wait for your experiment with the P&P. Anyway, great explanation on this video. Great talking & audio quality 👍

I have (had) just the Pork Loin, and the clean blend at 10 is certainly enough. You *actually* lose nothing from your dry. Not 100% about this Pork & Pickle. Seems like it probably has enough low and dry but hard to tell, even after watching like 4 different demos.

What kind of bass would you be using? Passive? Active? 4 or 5 string? I'm experimenting a little bit today. Distortion mixed with clean blend isn't as easy as it sounds!

@@hieronymous7 I use a 5-string passive American jazz bass. I've never needed extra EQ for the Pork Loin. Even though I said it's hard to tell if the Pork & Pickle retains enough low end and clean signal, it probably does, based on reviews. I had to sell my Pork Loin a while back (I miss it), and I'll probably buy the Pork & Pickle instead, because of the fuzz option as a bonus
