I have owned the T1000 3M steel version with 100mm actuators for about 4 years. I have never had any issues that were not software related. The rig has worked flawlessly. I use sim racing studios for software. The traction loss system works well but needs to be tweaked to your liking in the software. Less is more! Moza R9 with e-stop, FSR wheel, CRP Pedals, shifter. Thrustmaster handbrake. Winwing F-18 throttle, flight stick, and PTO panel.

The great motion debate and the need for seat harnesses with motion. Having motion is great, makes your hobby far more enjoyable, but it 100% doesn’t give you any real advantage against a non motion driver. As an example, if I hit a high curb at speed in my motion rig, yes I get the effect, but I also cannot hold my arms and legs still, no matter how hard I try, when my body gets moved in the rig, so does the wheel. Obviously I can turn the effect down, but muting the effect to the point of not feeling it like you expected it, breaks the immersion. A non motion owner can hit the same curb as hard as he likes, but will maintain a better wheel control, because his body is more planted. As for DOF, I’ve tried most types of systems over the years and found that heave and surge are the two most enjoyable feelings you get from a motion system, and to really get the very best, you need front and rear traction loss. The last thing that I see in every review when it comes to motion is the lack of seat belt harnesses being use. When you watch Will, your notice his compensating the motion because that’s the most natural thing us humans do, so his disconnect to the traction loss is amplified by not being at one with the motion rig. If Will was to try the same rig with belts, I’m sure he’d notice a better result being fixed to the rig. Hopefully he might do a short video on this in the future.

To avoid that disconnect you mentioned with the traction loss, the rigs will need to rotate 360 degrees so it doesn't have to return to centre to be able to give the next movement.

You’ve mixed yaw and sway Will. Sway is entire rig left or right. Yaw is rotational and you can have COR modified in software like flypt mover so it can be center of the rig or can be virtually a point 3m in front of you if you have 6dof rig
@boostedmedia
Ай бұрын
That’s what I said. Sway is when front and rear can move independently or together, which this rig can’t do but the NLR traction plus can.
@ZenMotionSim
Ай бұрын
@@boostedmedia thanks for answering Will. i still believe there is slight disconnect here - so probably the best way to describe this system would be that it has "TL - traction loss" (while still assuming we're talking only about rear wheels as this is the most common case). regarding the yaw vs sway comment - one is rotational and the second one is translational. so technically yaw will be both "TL" systems (with fixed rotation point in the front) as well as those systems that also have the same slider in the front - they can do yaw when they both move in opposite directions. sway is when there are two sliders and they BOTH move in THE SAME direction so the rig moves (not rotates) left or right. there is great visualization on evolve motorsport site - it's company from Poland and they do 6dof sims (very good ones in my opinion). would love to see them sending one to you for tests! btw, great video - as always! 🫡👊

I experimented with a variety of different settings over the space of a few weeks to form my opinions. For filming, we ran the default profiles in the Prosimu repo as suggested by Prosimu as this is the way they suggest the hardware be experienced. I specifically asked them to provide me with any recommended settings which would provide the "best" experience and they suggested just running default values and doing the capture for a few clean laps.
