Because of the intimidation factor, due to how much it looks like a real bullet-firing p226, is why I bought one. Self-defense without having to fire a shot. Not to mention that at close range this gun could still hurt someone, probably not kill anyone, but it will penetrate plywood. There are alot of variables with co2 guns for max penetration: 1. letting it cool down, I mean cool up, compressed gas works better in a warm gun. Taking to many shots in succession will cause the gun to get cold and the gas to loose pressure. 2. Close comfortable range 10 - 15 feet. 3. Use alloy pellets with pointed end, pba raptors worked for me, but something even sharper will prevent bouncing when gun starts to loose pressure.

After watching this vid I've decided to buy it. And I have to thank you for that - I got a ton of fun with plinking and target shooting. For over 2 mths I've put about 4.000 + shots . Couple of my remarks: 1. ALWAYS use silicon oil on CO2 valve - it will increase lifespan of the seal and boost the performance ( power) 2. Forget about round nose pellets, BB's, pointed, hollow points, magnums etc if you are looking to get the accuracy. Flat head match pellets of 6,5 - 7,5 gr is what you want 3. Clean and lube the gun barrel - lead dust is accumulating in the grooves completely spoiling the accuracy after 100 shots

Now, after nearly one year I can say it's really good air gun. No mechanical problems at all. The only thing that it's weared is the socets for pellet in the magazine. I put way over 10k shots of it and it still keeps the acuracy on the decent level. I'm able to fit all 8 shots on the 125/125mm target from 15m without any fuzz. I just passed my firearm licence with the best score from the pistol group. The practice time on this pistol gaved me esential skills of keeping the sights in-line, control breathe and muscles tention. Blow back is really similar to the rim-fire pistol like CZ P-07 Cadet .22lr or Russian Margolin. Now I'm looking for Sig Mosquito as my first .22 lr pistol.

As for pellet velocity, its clear that the outside temperature was rather low, maybe around +15-18°, otherwise it shoots nicely about 125 m/s with 0.45 g RWS Hobby when temperature is above +22-24°, that is very common for co2 guns

This is another pistol in my BB/pellet gun collection and I think it's my favorite when it comes to ACP pistols. This Sig Sauer is identical in every way to the actual 9mm P226 they issue to the Navy SEAL teams. My favorite revolver is the limited edition "The Duke" by Colt and I think my 2nd favorite would be my 1875 Remington dual ammo revolver.

I like this guy! I've owned all sorts of pistols but the most fun I've had was shooting air guns. It's inexpensive and there's alot more places you can shoot them. Even in the US it's hard to find a place where you can do the informal tin can plinking like this, with a .44 mag or .45 ACP. You're pretty well restricted to shooting ranges and paper targets with regular firearms. My appetite for punching holes in B-27 targets at 15 yards gets satiated pretty quickly, but setting up cans filled with water and such is something I could enjoy all day long.

Ok, a few words to say about this air pistol. I finally found one to buy since most are back-ordered, I have the real steel version of the mk 25 p226, the air version is much heavier than the real version. I even loaded my real p226 up with 15 rounds of 124gr. 9mm ammo and the air version was still a bit heavier. but on another note, some people are complaining of the air pistol being under powered, I'm just not seeing that. mine has plenty of power, sends pellets right through soup cans full of soup. I do like this gun quite a bit, just wish the weight was a bit more spot on...

I own a P226. The silencer is a UNF fitted via a SIG adaptor which is cosmetically designed to match the gun. Also have an under rail laser mounted. All fit my shoulder holster. The gun does misfire on occasions and am still looking to find the perfect combination of gas and pellets. Any advice is appreciated. In all it is a great gun made by SIG. Good all round performance and a hard hitting rapid fire rate. I have shot eight rounds on target at 15 yards in around 3 seconds. The blow back adds to the excitement and realism of this excellent gas weapon.

This style of clip is finicky and i found that if you dont seat the pellets well or your pellets are not perfect fit they will fall out of the bottom rotary mag while your shooting , my gamo c 15 has the exact same clip and i have to make sure i use a little plastic stick and push the pellet forward in the clip to make them stay , if not while your shooting you first 8 shots your going to loose shots from the second round of shots . But if you seat them good you will be much happier trust me i was getting disapionted till i seen a video where someone was having the same isssue and showed how to fix it , now i love my rotary mags , just a heads up for any rotary mag gun, this will be an issue .

I got one of these for free from a job site and the hammer will not go down when I pull the trigger.the push pins were also not all the way in so I think someone may have taken it apart at some point so it would be good to know if these can dry fire or if there's some type of mechanism that keeps them from firing when there's no CO2

They are too small (4.42 mm) for accuracy and will wear the treads in the barrel. The Cybergun P226 X-Five is a much better buy if you're looking for a functional replica. It boasts proper blowback, a full-size metal magazine, and can be field-stripped as per the real steel. The only downside is the underwhelming finish.

J Bishie I just love my X5. Started my Sig fandom. Been shooting lotsa with it, and often. Accurate for a BB gun I must say. Got even 2 mags for it. And a while back bought the airsoft version of it. (Yes - I have a tendency to collect things. :D ) The only bad I could say about it: 2 small screws inside the back of the slide - they can loosen up and fall out. But, I fixed that with some pipe sealant, so the gun has now been spitting out BBs without any worries. A couple of days ago I ordered this P226 - just because the CO2 loading system seemed so nice. Already own a CZ P-09 with the flip rotary magazine - so, theres nothing new with that to me. The P226 has a bigger slide than the CZ - so I'm interested to see if there's somekinda difference in the blowback..

hello. great review I tried the same thing and found the bbs were the way to go but I heard it can damage the rifled barrel?? stick with 4 gr pellets? I'm not sure. please someone reply

bbs will wear out the barrel faster... more of an issue if its rifled... i doubt this guns barrel is rifled but still more wear regardless

Sorry, but is it your shooting or is the accuracy just poor. Also, the pellets didn't seem to be able to punch proper clear-defined holes.

At 5 meters I would have expected it to be a bit more accurate. I like the way the CO2 is done.

This looks far superior to Barretta's 9mm replica PX4 Storm. We're it not for my military Barretta bias, I'd swap the Storm for the SIG any day. The P226 is 9mm Lugar, but the way.

Nice to know your not reviewing anything from SMK Giles. I have the P226, l like the gun as its a nice replica of the real steel one. But i only get two mags worth if i'm lucky, and it's not very powerful. But it's not that expensive and adds to my collection. All the best Giles and keep up the reviews.

You should be getting 4-5 mags on one Co2.. I added a laser to mine to get decent grouping at 6yds of around 1" average grouping.

+Kevin Cudmore. Maybe when the weather improves it should be better. I didn't even know it took bbs. Don't think I'll use them with it being rifled. Would look good with a silencer whenever they make them.

+Ady Cooke They certainly don't recommend BBs in them but the only reason they will take them is because they use the same mags as the Gamo C15 pellet version. Despite being SIG " designed" they are made in the same Japanese factory as the Gamo pistols and Beretta PX4..

+Ady Cooke You can get copper coated lead BB's made by H&N (4.4mm), a lot of people use them on internal ranges due to the lower ricochet risk. Might be worth a try (also recommended for Baikal Makarov rifled BB pistol apparently).

i dont like this one...replicaaiguns has one without the barrel sticking out and a full magazine u can field strip it too. plus i dont like not having a recessed barrel...takes away the realism. plus on this one notice the slide has a molded ejection port. also when racked back yes u can see the barrel BUT they missed the rod underneath. no good for me

When the 8+8 mag is fully loaded sometimes the pellets from the other side slides off, how could i avoid that?
