*NOTE* - I've gotten a few comments about my use of all of the products at once. Before I began using the products, I reached out to the Drunk Elephant rep that sent me the products. She said that I could use the products in ANY combination that I wanted. I trusted that information. So, those assuming that I didn't do my research, are a bit off! Of course I asked! Jen Luvs Reviews i went all in too when i got the whole line from Sephora (got the trial sets during Sephora sale). I emailed DE too and i was given a regime to follow that includes all if their products. Followed the regime to the T hehe. I loved the TLC framboos for a while but after a couple of weeks my skin got so irritated that it is painful to put anything on so i stopped with a realization that i cant use this strong of a chemical exfoliator. My favorite among their products are the lipbalm (i always get 2 because my husband love it) and the marula oil. I have repurchased both multiple times too 😊

FTC MUA I know you asked Jen, but just wanted to share I wanted to try them and found many (good, not expired) Ole Henriksen products in my local Marshalls. It was a good way to test out the brand without a huge investment. In general, I have really liked their products so having gotten a feel, would try full priced products. Might be worth checking a Marshalls or TJMaxx if local to you.

When I was 15 I was working weekends in a cafe in my local theatre, and one of the actresses told me one day to 'start a good skincare routine in your mid teens! Start now. Trust me, you'll thank me when you're 40'. I took her advice. I have just turned 40 and two months ago I was asked for ID when buying a bottle of wine. The woman spoke true, and I thank her. P.S. absolutely most important aspect of skin care (besides what you put *in* your body) is USE SUNSCREEN. xxx

This is THE BEST I cream I have ever used and I’ve seen so much improvement firming up and brightening around my eyes! I don’t even need to use concealer under my eyes anymore. Faiza I have both and honestly I liked TO marula oil, until I tried DE’s. They’re so different. I find that DE’s version is dryer and absorbs quicker and doesn’t leave me sticky, like the one from TO did. But still overall it’s not bad, I do love TO rose hip oil for nighttime use.

Faiza I’m 34 and have super dry skin so there isn’t any reason an oil should just sit on my skin and I feel like that’s what TO marula oil does. And I don’t go ham with it either, 2-3 drops and I still feel sticky. And I agree, it’s a lot to pay for an oil that you can get elsewhere. It came with the Sukari Babyfacial that I sprung for to help with scarring. I probably won’t repurchase it simply for the price point but if I even won the lottery I could see myself buying it regularly 😂

As a skincare junkie... 1) Have you used AHAs and BHAs before the Baby Facial? Jumping to high percentages is really bad for the skin. Plus, something that intense isn't really meant to be used once a week but maybe once a month. 2) Ingredients in that lip balm are NOTHING special. 3) Unless you're bougie, cleansers don't need to be that special. Have you tried CeraVe cleanser for dry skin? It's similarish and cheaper. 4) Um, I wouldn't recommend using 12% AHAs EVERY night. Maybe 3 days a week. Glycolic acid is quite intense. Love me some AHAs but it can be too irritating. 5) That information on how Vitamin C works was so interesting. Thank you for this review! I don't have anywhere near enough money for Drunk Elephant (I'm a uni student lol) but it's interesting to see if it works! Love how researched you are. :)

I agree, I used the serum once a day and it caused me chemical damage. I have no idea why they recommend using such a strong acid every day. That’s not even with the baby facial, which is illegal in Canada because of how strong it is. They only allow professionals to use acids that strong here.
@gwynethcampbell9889

I'm Canadian too and didn't know that. I have a 10% AHA from the ordinary (which I like but hate the packaging) and I don't even use it once a week. I use my 2% BHA almost nightly and then sometimes switch in the AHA.
@ker3nza

I'm Canadian too and I use the Neostrata 10% glycolic acid lotion and toner every night. I've been using it for 3+ years now. I actually went to the dermatologist and asked if using too much glycolic is detrimental to the skin and they said no, as long as you don't feel irritation or stinging. I have oily combo skin so my skin may be a little more tolerate than others so I think as long as your skin can tolerate it, AHA is ok to use daily. BHA is actually stronger than AHA and that's why you never see products that have more than 2% BHA in it. Glycolic is supposed to be less irritating and more suitable for all skin types (not just oily and acne prone) and I'm guessing that's why you see different % of AHA in products because it's considered to not be as "strong" as BHA.
@b2h316
6 жыл бұрын
I'm Canadian too! I use the ordinary 5% lactic about every 2 or 3 days and that works great for me. I find every once in awhile that's even too strong for me so I can't imagine using one that's 12%. I've been using this one for about 7 months now and it doesn't seem like my skin is ever going to be ready for a stronger one
@gwynethcampbell9889
6 жыл бұрын
From my understanding, BHAs and AHAs don’t just defer in strength but in benefits. One is better for internal exfoliating, oiliness and redness whereas the other is better for resurfacing and helping with texture. How much is too much is based on the person and if you use high levels for long enough, your skin can learn to tolerate it. I just wouldn’t use an AHA more often since they burn my skin more, unlike BHAs calm redness.

Personally drunk elephant has helped my skin so much. I’m not always drunk elephant exclusive but their products have helped my formerly sensitive skin. I went on accutane last year and used their oil and la la whipped retro cream and never got dry skin which Was amazing. Also my lips were chronically dry and I tried every lip balm before trying the drunk elephant one (due to the price) and it was the only one that soothed and helped my lips. After accutane I still obviously had so many acne scars and I used their c firma serum mixed with b hydra and marula oil helped so much. I don’t have any scars anymore and doesn’t irritate my skin like other brands did. Also removing silicones has improved my skin so much! I follow Caroline Hirons for most of my skincare info and she’s very clear that you should introduce new products one at a time to not cause irritation. Also most high end skincare brands are just as expensive in Australia or brands such as obaji aren’t available so I think it’s worth the price if it works for you.

I’ve been using those products straight since going off accutane in March (had used la la on it but not the others) and have zero acne scars left. I never thought I’d get rid of this pigmentation on my jawline from these cystic pimples but they’re gone! Also if you love those products I highly recommend getting the c tango eye cream and the protini moisturizer which I use as my am and then la la as my Pm cream!

Ever since I added a retinoid and dermarolling to my skin care I've seen really good results. I've managed to see more improvement with far less products which means I spend less money. I've been using a form of retin a for almost 2 years and dermarolling for a year, it's a slow process but well worth the results, which admittedly are minor but that's so much better than when I wasn't seeing any improvement at all before plus I was spending a lot more money. Because skin care is so expensive but important, it’s the one thing you shouldn’t leave to chance. I used to buy DE, Sunday Riley etc... tried a bunch of things, spent a fortune and didn’t notice huge results. I finally consulted a dermatologist who knew my skin and put me onto the brand Skin Medica (just as expensive if not more). Now it’s only Vitamin C&E in the am, moisturizer and sun block. Evening is retinol and moisturizer. No masks, no oils, no serums, easy to follow and my skin has never looked better, I highly recommend consulting a professional before you begin experimenting or you’re likely going to throw money away and do too much or buy things your skin doesn’t need. Also, a good rule of thumb is if dermatologists don’t carry the line (which pretty much applies to all Sephora Brands), you kind of have to wonder why.

Rachel Evolve yeah I truly love the idea of drunk elephant and have been using the whole line for a year my favorite products are protini & bhydra.. I've bought & am on my second bottle of cfrima & I can't say if it's done much... I'm going on to dr dennis gross skincare now & seeing if I get more noticeable results.. I kinda think the cfrima & bhydra clogs my pores but Idk gonna try dr dennis gross line since his peel pads are amazing & have given me instant results!

and what I love about Dennis Gross products is that they're cruelty free! I did purchase the C Collagen deep cream, but felt it was too emollient for me, and made me break out. I still would like to try other Dennis Gross products.

Jen did you ever see my 6 month review and results of this line? Oh listen also if you are interested...I compared their marula to 4 others right down to even tasting them. I won't link cuz that's not nice but they won't be hard to find on my channel if you want to see them. I think my review was eye opening ESPECIALLY when you see that even 6 months later STILL they've still not acknowledged what happened EVEN AFTER it came to light that my joke about being expired was correct! Also make sure you see the packaging part...if you decide to actually purchase this stuff you'll want to know about how much product is still inside it after empty! Try the Tarte Tingle Treatment ;) :D Love ya! xoxo Mary

great review I love DE especially C Firma day serum! It just transformed by skin and now all the little scars from pimples are gone and i have quite a uniform skin tone. I am dying to repurchase it but I want to look into tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate serums which is an oil soluble vitamin c derivative i have heard great things about. I haven't found derivatives that impress me yet so hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised hehe. Hope your enjoying your trip lovely!! xo

Love the Drunk Elephant products. They have made such a difference in my skin. I take just a drop of the B-Hydra and a drop of the Marula Oil. I put it in the palm of my hand and mix together. Pat it on your face , it takes such a small amount, too much and you will be sticky! I love that the products are fragrance free.

I use a lot of products from their line. I absolutely love them and will continue to shell out the money for them. I want to invest a lot into my skincare, it will affect how I look the rest of my life. My products I love are: C-FIRMA, B-Hydra, Protini (obsessed!), Marula Oil, the new Vitamin C eye cream, Lala whipped moisturizer, their jelly cleanser and although I've tried their Glycolic serum, I prefer Good Genes for my acid or Tarte Knockout. If you're only going to get one product I would go with Protini. It's an amazing anti aging moisturizer that works for all skin types.

I use the whole drunk elephant line and love it. I’m 53 and have seen a huge difference since starting the line. The gel cleanser doesn’t always get all my eye makeup off either. It actually stinks when it comes to waterproof mascara. The facial bar soaps are amazing though. You can get a travel pack of 2 from Sephora for $18 and they last a decent amount of time.

I love the Beste cleanser! I don’t wear makeup, but I have started double cleansing with it at night to help my acne. Beste was one of the first things I started using to transition my skincare to higher quality clean products instead of just cheap clean products. My skin has never looked better! I think it’s a phenomenal value because the container is humongous! It’ll take me probably 6 months to run out, using it once a day. Thanks for your opinions!

I would never have thought that you were 40, I actually thought you were about the same age as me (I'm just about to turn 30). I think skincare at that price is just too high a cost, you get to a certain price point and there's only so much you can make a product do. Eventually you're just paying for the extras like no scent, fancy packaging etc. Sadly I think the most effective skincare especially for the concern of anti-aging, is to start a good (not necessarily high priced but good) routine at a younger age and keep it consistent. That's not what most people want to hear, but it is the best way to combat anti-aging as no cream can reverse age your skin, it'll just help slow more fine lines forming. 💋 xAndyx 💋

According to an article by Wendy Ouriel, a skin care biologist and founder of Oumere, she states Vitamin C acts as the opposite of an anti oxidant. When vitamin c comes in contact with metals such as iron(which is inevitable as it exists in the air) it will act as a pro oxidant and do more harm than good to the skin. If you have troubled skin, such as acne, vitamin c really isn’t recommended. I stopped using the DE vitamin c and saw an improvement in my skin, after wondering for so long why my skin wasn’t getting any better. I definitely recommend looking into it.

I suggest Lala retro whip cream for nigh time moisturizer since you don’t like the sticky feeling from the B-hydra gel. And i think B-hydra gel is to use with the C-firma as moisturize during daytime not to go to bed🙂 My favorite and definitely re-purchase will be Lala Retro Whip cream and The T.L.C Framboos.

Jen with the Babyfacial I’d recommend to add the Drunk Elephant LA LA RETRO cream, moisturiser. They do have a mini size that you can purchase also, a combo with a mini Beste Jelly Cleanser. If you wish to go with this route, apply 3-4 pumps of Baby Facial with 3 pumps of LA LA RETRO cream. If no to the LA LA RETRO CREAM, use the B-HYDRA GEL. MIX 3-4 pumps of DE Babyfacial together with 3-4 pumps of BHydra Gel, apply to your face, neck etc. Leave it on between 10-20 mins. Then wash off as usual. These mixes do NOT dilute or change the results of the Babyfacial, or of any product, at all. Try the LA LA RETRO CREAM, MOISTURISER it’s AMAZING! Try their DE D-BRONZI serum - SUNSHINE LIQUID GOLD IN A BOTTLE. AHHH-MAZING, ten fold. 💯 per cent. Best of luck Jen. 🤗🌈🦋

I've tried the lip balm, the sunscreens, and the C-Firma. I think the balm and sunscreens are good, especially the tinted one because it doesn't leave any white cast and most sunscreens irritate my skin. The C-Firma, I've been using for about a week and I've noticed a nice difference in my skin, firmness isn't an issue with me but my skin feels much smoother and looks brighter

I'm so glad you are doing this review. I've tried three products, the Lala cream, Umbra SPF and the Protini. The Lala cream I purchased twice and it was nice, but not skin-changing. If I used a bit too much, my face would break out. The SPF made me laugh the first time I tried it. It came out golden (not tinted) and was greasier than anything I've ever tried. The Protini was horrible for me! I have slightly sensitive skin and it actually dried my skin out and made my eyes swell and burn! I have no idea what was in that, but no more D.E. for me...

I love this whole line. I use the TLC Framboos, the C Firma, the Marula Oil, the Babyfacial once a week and Lala Retro Whipped Cream. I think my faves are the Marula Oil (and no need to get the big daddy. The smaller one has lasted me forever), the TLC Framboos and the Lala Retro Whipped Cream. I am normal to combo and while the Lala cream is a little on the thicker side it never feels greasy and is super hydrating and nourishing for night. Also have been liking the C Tango Eye Cream.

The B Hydra Gel is great for under makeup application. I use it in conjunction with the Lala Retro Cream. Since I use Retin A cream for my acne, it makes my skin dry. I use the B Hydra after the Retin a. Then I put down the Lala Retro after the B Hydra dries a little. The combination of both of these is great. It keeps my dryness at bay and doesnt break me out. I've used both for about a year and I can't live without them now.

I got a deluxe trial size of the TLC serum, and it did absolutely nothing for me--plus, it comes with a warning that says something about not using it for too long a period of time, and not to expose your skin to sun while you're using it, etc. Really made me uncomfortable, so I was happy to see it go. As always, thanks for the depth and breadth of info, Miss Jen!

Drunk Elephant products have changed my skin... I use the Framboos, C-Firma, and B-Hydra and this is the only line that has made a significant difference in my acne scarring and helps with active acne too. And as a bonus, it has diminished my wrinkles as well. The biggest difference came when I added in the Framboos, that stuff is magic. I was afraid of the acid as my skin is sensitive, but my face loves it. I hate the price, but the difference it made is amazing.

So I have dry acne prone sensitive skin. Chicago weather is hard to keep hydrated skin without breaking out. Drunk elephant saved my skin! For the past year I've struggle with cystic skin so I hated looking at the mirror. Anyway I think the jelly cleanser is the best for a good PH. The peptini moisturizer is amazing if you need a good moisturizer for dry skin without breaking you out. I think these 2 products were a game changer. I got the birthday gift from sephora while I was on my honey moon and I'm so happy I tried it. These ingredients don't irtitate your skin which is why I love. I don't have cystic skin anymore. After a year I feel confident taking selfies.

I've been using most of the Drunk Elephant line exclusively for 10 weeks and my 61-year-old skin is so happy. It's obviously more even and all the blackheads are gone. I'm getting more compliments on my skin. I am very, very happy with it. I'll only buy it during VIB sales and I may pare down a couple of the products because of the cost, but it's worth it to me.

I am alarmed that a Vitamin C product would use oils that add color to the product, like rose hip seed oil. As vitamin C oxidizes, it turns yellow to orange to brown. If the product is already yellowish/orangish, how do you know the product is fresh and effective?
