For example. They would have signs that clearly state that demon spawn children are not allowed in the Play place Unsupervised. I slung burgers at McDonalds in the late 1970’s. The “System” in those days involved cooking in “Runs” of anywhere 12, 6 or 3 sandwiches. No microwave ovens ANYWHERE in the store! The burgers were fresher then, but the manager on duty had to anticipate demand and make sure the pipeline is full. A typical manager would ask for a run of 12 burgers. When the burgers were pulled off the grill, the grill person would call ask the manager how many were to have cheese and/or customizations. They would then dressed and wrapped by another teammate. The old system was better, but it sometimes resulted in food waste. Unsold sandwiches could not remain under heat lamps for more than 20 minutes. If they did, you had to toss them out.

What a shame! Back from 89-91 I worked the quarter pounder grill (and fryer) and our burgers came out fresh and seasoned right. Yes, they were frozen, but they were cooked right, seared and seasoned with salt and pepper and even as teen aged kids we took some pride in the way our food came out.. it looked good and tasted good. No microwaves or any of that BS.Buns were freshly toasted. Back when we still had the fried apple pies. If you ran the back line with the fryers the filet o fish had one, the pies had one and the McChicken and nuggets all had different fryers. Nuggets and McChicken went into a hot storage oven for no longer than 20 min and then got tossed. Pies had a 45 min life. Sandwiches were 15 min under a hot lamp. French Fries were still cooked in beef tallow.

McDonald's always gets bad reviews online. Basically because they have so many customers and people only post reviews when it's bad. Plus you've got so many different staff members who probably won't give a sh*t and the service isn't tip based even in America I don't think. So a lot of the time the people working don't care. As they're franchises it takes a good franchisee to run it properly and not just take people's money for terrible food. We all know McDonald's fries are good when fresh and the burgers aren't actually bad when made properly and hot.

And the double QPC has no excuse to not be fresh, since McDonald's has had corporate policy to cook all quarter pounder meat to order since at least 2018. And pies? Those should be going in for lunch at like 10, since they have a four hour hold time.
