I was able to import 3D terrain from SketchUp to Revit using the free-for-educational-use SketchUp Make 2014 version. Thanks for the tutorial! Well done.

Nice video for starters. I have a question why I get this message every time I follow the same steps, "A boundary on this surface could not be autodetected. Revit will impose one, but it may be larger than you want."
@SmarterArchitect
8 жыл бұрын
I have not seen that error, but it sounds as though you need to turn off autodetect while the toposurface command is active. If you consider signing up for the Revit course where we can work more closely together than those issues will go away. The sign up process for be released in a future video very soon.

Hey I've imported my site but the site and contours don't show on the plans and site plan. I've Checked Visibility Graphic settings and VG or VV and that has not sloved the problem. What do you think this issue is?
@SmarterArchitect
7 жыл бұрын
Are you sure? Sounds like the primary and/or secondary contour lines have been turned off in visibility graphics under topography. The site plan view which should have a cut height above the ground plane generally shows the contours below by default.

Francisco Azeredo I have to do a few site tutorials to build on the site video content, but it will definitely be in the course which covers start to finish of a project. I am sure it will be helpful and a major time saver to all who take the Revit course online.

Like for example when I wanted a green fresh grass render, my result evidently presents an animated finish to a realistic finish

Thank you for this video. I have a small question: Can i get things that is not needed out of the region created or create another region shape instead of rectangle ? I'm sorry if my bad english disturbs you.
@SmarterArchitect
8 жыл бұрын
If I understand you correctly, there are 2 ways to address it. Use the hide feature to hide the undesired elements in a particular view or if you are using a floor plan view - use a custom-shaped crop region to edit the boundary.

Have sketchup pro 2017, but the tool bar doesn't have any google option. What do you suggest?
@SmarterArchitect
7 жыл бұрын
View > Toolbars > Check LOCATION (It used to be called Google in Sketchup versions before 2016). I hope this helps you find the button so that you can follow the tutorial because toggle terrain can be very helpful. Thanks for watching!

OK, so Now I discover that In Revit I don't have the Google earth terrain layer after selecting create from import. what do I do? 2hrs later, I see that there is an option for terrain and it is only visible/distinguishable in site view even though the object is in level 1.
@SmarterArchitect
7 жыл бұрын
You need to make sure to go in to Visibility and Graphics menu (for whatever view you want the topo to be visible) and toggle the Site category on by checking the box. By default, the site elements only appear in the Site view. Then as along as it is visible in the view range properties for that view, then you will see it. Stick with it JOe!
@joeshmoe5935

so now the question is how do you add accurate property lines. After all you don't want to build on the neighboring property.
