Thanks for all the help. I have a situation pop up. My roof was in the way and I decided to chose all the elements of the roof and hide them. Man was that a mistake I can't make the roof visible again. I am used to CAD's old layers menu. Nowhere for me to click now and turn all the roof elements on again.

Great response and very much appreciated. I'll have to mess around more on Revit when I get home to get better at creating the roof on the correct level. What I did was adjust the height of the roof (so it sits atop the walls, then cut roof, and pasted it to the ceiling plan level 1. I begin with no template, linked a CAD file, and drew the walls then roof. I posted the model and blueprint at parizme.tumblr.com if you're curious to see what I've completed so far. I aspire to be a draftsmen and am eager to get it down and get working in the field already and your tutorials are excellent. Thanks much for your help. +Peter

Peter, you are definitely headed in the right direction. Revit allows the project team to think in 3-D from the start. Best wishes! I took a look at your model and it reminded me. I am excited to be releasing a Revit residential course soon to cover the entire process of modeling and rendering a home for beginners online for only $100 and that includes 4 1-hr Question/Answer sessions. Interested? There will only be 25 seats.
