In this video, I take you through the process of creating a smoke machine for 80s toy robots! These nostalgic toys used a clever mechanism involving nichrome wire and multipurpose oil to create smoke effects. I 3D modeled the compartment, printed it out, and assembled it using 36 gauge nichrome wire, magnet wire, cotton, and cotton string. The result is a smoke machine that works even better than the originals!
Follow along as I show you step-by-step how to make your own. This smoke machine can be used for more than just toy robots; it's perfect for any DIY project requiring smoke effects. In the video, I demonstrate how to hook up a small air pump to blow out the smoke. You can also use modern-day glycerin smoke fluid for a safer and more efficient smoke effect.
Whether you're a fan of retro toys, enjoy DIY projects, or both, you'll find this project both fun and rewarding.
