Hey mate I just bought exactly the same but 2011. This may sound strange but I'm looking for a tuned mk6 to get a data log from.. reason being my old man (father) tunes but mostly LS LS BOOSTED SUPERCHARGED FORD BARRA TURBOS.. big power stuff. I'm 46 my old man's fukn 76-78 or something he loves it still does remote tuning swap your ecu for a tuned one etc. I'm quite happy to pay you for the data log, time etc. I have watched a couple of your videos and love your attitude and presentation mate awesome job on that one. 1 tip next mod... throw that fukn plaid🤮 interior out for leather.. 1st world issue I know. (Edit) if you read this I'd also really love to know how it's gone over the last however many years?

I just bought a used GTI. When I drove it home I was shocked by the power. I was told it had some work done but the dealer undersold it. All I cared about was if it had been modded they upgraded the clutch, which it had. Once I got home I paged through the old records. The guy spent 7k to get to stage 2+. Intake, full exhaust, clutch, tune, rotors and new wheels were done including labor. No receipts but I suspect it was lowered slightly as well(pictures show stock should be a little higher than my car). I am extremely impressed with this car. When I was young I had a 92' 5.0 conv, It was my pride and joy. This GTI is better in every conceivable way from a performance standpoint. Thanks for the video, I can reasonably assume my new(old) car does 0-60 in the mid 5s since your brother did lower with the auto(I have manual). It makes sense since my old mustang was about 6.5. I completely agree and appreciate that this car is basically a perfect practical car if you drive it normal. It's my first turbo and has opened my eyes to the insane value over just a big engine that gobbles gas pointlessly.

I have a MK6 GTI Autobahn Edition. The MK7 does already have a K04 turbo. So that helps with the power advantage. I would also suggest putting a mechanical LSD in it. It will help you in crappy weather. But, it will definitely help that car hookup better than the electronic open dif that comes stock. I would also highly suggest coil overs. Especially the ones with adjustable dampers. I'm going to work on getting my car modded. I'm going to do suspension, breaks, LSD, intercooler, ect, before I get into the power. Kind of prepare for everything first

@@Ethan007Hacks Congratulations on the turbo upgrade, if it isnt too late please hear me out. Although the f23t boasts slightly higher numbers than some k04 setups, keep in mind that the f23t is lacking in r&d and in most cases will not live up to the hype in power and especially reliability. Second, while first researching making big power with my tsi motor I also wanted to run a high ethanol blend and was surprised that the tunes weren't really available. This is because when running an ethanol blend, much more fueling is required compared to running race gas (100 or 104 octane). Above about 350WHP the tsi motors stock fueling cant really support the increased flow that ethanol blends require and thus will actually produce less power.

,@@brettleonard8602 it's just every vendor calls it something different and it gets confusing. Like the k04, used to be called stage 3, but now Stage 3 is an EFR turbo. And some vendors by having a downpipe, tune, and premiums fuel it's called stage 2+. Not trying to split hairs here. Just trying to avoid any confusion with nomenclature.

Hey man, do the stiffer engine and trans mounts transfer a lot of vibrations to the cabin and steering wheel? Thanks!
@Max-nk6oc

The motor mounts dont really transfer much to the steering wheel, but the vibrations will be more pronounced throughout the car. Unfortunately this is kinda the reality of making over 300WHP in a fwd hatch, if you want to limit wheel hop, you have to stiffen the mounts.

Go ctsturbo k04 for sure. The HPA is a hybrid (little to no R&D), CTS is a genuine BW K04 and will be be much more reliable. They are also pretty much the same price. Look at all of the K04 tsi cars making big power, they all are running the cts for a reason. I personally just installed the cts k04 about a month ago and throughout the entire process, I was happily surprised by the high build quality.
