Love all your videos Dr. Yeung. Would love to see what you think about supplements for an enlarged prostate. Many supplements on the market and many more videos with different explanations. Hard to know what is right and wrong. By following your advice I have gotten my A1C down to 5.7, ....NO DRUGS.... Fasting and exercise. When it comes to an BPH, I would trust anything you publish on this subject. Thanks for all you do.

My main concern is the most likely regaining of fat weight at expense of musle, therefore being worse off than before …

As someone with needle phobia, I feel increasingly discouraged by so many of these drugs being administered by injection. I'm continuing trying to manage my weight on my own, and while I have little successes in the short term, in the long term I'm just continuing to gain weight. I need something to help me, but I don't know what it is. Sometimes I wish I could just go to a feeding clinic as an inpatient and have them control every aspect of my diet and exercise until I've lost enough weight 🙃

Well, there’s always Rylbesus… it’s basically ‘oral Ozempic’. Same active ingredient, made by the same company. Not quite as effective as the best injectables, but higher doses of it (25 and 50mg) have been approved or should be soon, and then would show up on pharmacy shelves later on in 2024. That should close the efficacy gap a great deal, maybe even put it on par with high-dose Ozempic. That said, definitely read the instructions if you go that route… it has to be taken a certain way in order to be effective.

I get it and I was there, too. When I was first prescribed Saxenda, my brain screamed every excuse not to start because of the needles. Honestly, it wasn't the big bad monster I had made up in my mind and after the first few injections, I was fine. I just had to get past those fears and I am a needle ninja now 😉 .. good luck to you ❤

Chronic dieting has been linked to weight gain btw. Try focusing on weight maintenance and fixing your relationship with food, if possible.

Great video. It is so exciting to see obesity recognised as a chronic disease that deserves the attention of pharmaceutical companies. These drugs going to help a lot of people, primarily those in their 40's and above, when metabolism slows down significantly and mild sarcopenia happens.

can you also go over side effects and which ones have the lowest? and how they're taken / frequency?

The once a month injection may be a problem for those who get bad side effects as they’ll be stuck with them for a month

I thought about that too when I read elsewhere that AMG133 (now called ‘Mari’) had that super-long half-life. 😯 But, for a lot of ppl the convenience factor is going to trump the ‘locked into side effects for a few weeks’ thing. Even if probably it shouldn’t. 😬 All I can say to Amgen is, better have a SLOW and GENTLE titration schedule, guys. And a LOW starting dose. 🤞

i'm sure they start you at a low dose...many ppl don't want to inject weekly

Thanks! I am looking forward to letting my mom know when the semaglutide pill becomes available and I’ll be watching your channel for it. It’d really help her as she has other health issues and stress that’d probably be improved beyond weight loss. It’s cool to hear about a once a month shot too. I know it was hard for me to commit to weekly shots but for me that’s better than a daily pill. The easier it is for all types of people, the more widespread use we will see. I hope the variety of options in the next few years will result in prices drastically dropping too because until that happens it’ll remain out of reach for so many. All good news. Great use of sources and details. Do you have links you can share for all your sources? Oh I see them in your blog post. Thanks!

Rybelsus, oral semaglutide, is already available and has been for a while, but it’s not as effective as the injections

@sarah Yep. And I think the ‘semaglutide tablets’ referred to in the content are just very high dose (50mg) Rybelsus, finally becoming available in 2024.

@@sarahbartlett9870 Since you're a doctor (presumably a MD) and these are new drugs, you should know that time will tell. Above all do no harm, and potentially setting someone up for thyroid cancer and pancreatic issues is harm in my opinion. But some people do risk harming others for their own gain.
