we have a colvic watson 32 which we have been sailing for the past 14 years. One thing I never understand with colvic owners is why do you all have the fore sail up when your motoring. It does nothing for the speed or stability of the boat. When motor sailing just the main will give you between 1/2 -1 knot extra and never try to sail a colvic closer than 60 degs to windward you will almost stop. Any where from 60 degs to aft she will sail well. As to your comment its very choppy what a laugh. you should have been on ours crossing the bay of biscay when we got caught in 72 knots of wind and 13 mt seas.

Glad I wasn’t on yours. I question the judgement of anyone who can not read a weather forecast 🤣😄

I left port on my voyage north in the North sea and unfortunately forgot to remove my mainsail cover , there was quite a bit of roll so as single handed opted for safety to use headsail and was surprised how well it dampened the roll so must disagree, Kintail is a colvic watson 28.6

+Stevek552 I agree, seemed like a good idea at the time but it really annoys me now :(
