Am I missing something? Martin Morgenstern (Harold Gould) was a handsome, suave, well dressed man with a kind personality and a sharp wit. Billy doesn't hold a candle to him. Ida was lucky.

I saw an interview with Valerie Harper who said the idea for Rhoda was to be what Mad About You became and I can see that from these episodes. So well written and well acted.

Nobody but nobody could hold a candle to Martin Morgenstern ( Harold Gould). He was handsome, suave, well dressed, witty, patient, loving, and a good provider. Ida never realised how lucky she was. RIP Mr Morgenstern….you set the bar very high.

I remember as a Kid , the guy who played Billy in this EP. used to do a commercial for Cracker Jack back in the early 60's or sometime during the 70's. it is a foggy memory, because I was just a little kid back then, and that was a LONG time ago. . .

Bangs are hair that usually is cut short, with a straight edge, falling forward onto the forehead. I've never had them myself, so it's the best description I could give.

I remember seeing Jack Guilford in a children’s musical on CBS. He played a Tiger who met a young boy in the Central Park Zoo. The boy is from Texas and is desperate to have a horse of his own. I don’t remember all of the plot. I do remember the show was produced at “Television in City Hollywood.”

Love the show to pieces but they waaay over did it with the baskets. Especially the ones hanging over the shelves and cabinets. Over kill from tight azz tone deaf designers thinking it was a hippie boho look.

Baskets were VERY popular back then. I like the look of baskets - my mom had some when I was a kid, but they aren't practical because they get dusty too fast and they're hard to clean.

Not in my house anyway - maybe in a closed up apartment 6 flights up it's not as dusty as a house with pooches running in and out bringing in dirt.😏

I wholeheartedly agree. I think they wrote that episode just for Jack Gilford and it was a half baked idea without much substance. I usually love all Rhoda episodes but this episode really got on my nerves and lacked a feel good ending. Not cool.
