Ah single shot shotguns. They're not fast. Or light. Or tactical. Or anything else most people are looking for when it comes to a gun. But there's just something fun and cool about them.

Semi auto’s are extremely fun, but there’s something about guns that require you to manually move the mechanism that just elicits a smile out of people. I’ve heard it compared to driving a “manual vs automatic” car, and I think that sums it up for me. Both are awesome, both have their place, but they’re just different kinds of fun.

Had the 20 inch 12 ga version and there is a simple solution to the recoil problem. Either fill the hole in the rear stock with lead shot or measure the length of the hole and cut a piece of 3/4 copper water line and pour it full of lead. Insert the lead weighted pipe into the rear stock and you will be surprised how much it reduces the recoil .

I’ve got something nearly identical. Different importer and manufacturers name. Longer barrel and wood furniture. 12g. But same gun. I found the name once and can’t remember it but one plant in Turkey pumps these out under dozens of names. Different gauges, barrel lengths and furniture materials depending on the brand. Importers all over the world. Mine is imported by Revolution Armory in Alberta. I can’t believe what I paid for it. It looks great. Lightweight. Accurate. I really enjoy using it. It has become my most used firearm. These rust easily if not taken care of. Mine has duds from a certain brand of cheap target load. So I think the spring isn’t the strongest.

That design has been around for over 60 years. My first 12 gauge shotgun, in 1962, was made in Italy by Gamba and was £20 at the time and was similar to the one in the video.... but HAMMERLESS and 'prettier'. It kicked like hell with 35 gram loads.

I wish we could go back to times when guns only cost $20 (or £20 for you). The little shotgun is definitely a fun firearm. I assumed that the design was older, but I had no idea how long it had been around. I’ll have to look into the gamba! Thanks!

Can I shoot bird shot, and Buck shots with the same choke the shotgun comes with?...Thus is my only concern,
@sonofaboomer
Жыл бұрын
The 20 gauge and .410 versions just have a cylinder bore. You’re all good to shoot whatever you want out of them, you’ll just not be able to add different chokes to tighten up your pattern. The 12 gauge version takes different chokes. Plain lead shot (buck or bird) is okay out of most chokes, but as the choke gets smaller, avoid putting buckshot through the gun (like a turkey choke). However, if you just take the chokes out, you can shoot bird, buck, or slugs.
@lamardaniels6625
Жыл бұрын
@SONOFABOOMER ....tracking, but I thought taking out the chokes to shoots all birdshots, buck shots or slugs will damage the barrel without any choke being attached to it?
@sonofaboomer
Жыл бұрын
@@lamardaniels6625 Apologies. Yes, you don’t really want to shoot it with no choke attached. A cylinder bore choke or improved cylinder bore choke would be ideal for shooting whatever you want out of the gun, but your patterns will be wider for buckshot and birdshot. Hope that helps and makes sense.

I have the RIA 12 gauge. Of course recoil is there, but it's not unmanageable. Mine did come with 3 chokes and the choke key. I've put hundreds of rounds through mine and it's holding up great. No issues. Paired up with a short lane arms stack pack it makes a great truck gun.

I have the 20 gauge version as well, I use it for cottontail and doves. I've ran birdshot through it without having ear protection and it didn't hurt the ears. However when your hunting you don't always have time to put ear protection on when you have a good shot. I've tested slugs in it and it was pretty brutal. Great shotgun.

Will a single shot shotgun fire any length shell?
@sonofaboomer
2 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily, you should check what size chamber it has. For instance, the 12 gauge version of this single shot has a 3 inch chamber meaning it can fire the mini shells, 2 3/4 in, and 3 inch shells, but not 3 1/2 in magnum shells.

I’m really liking this. Stupid question: how easy is removing the butt plates? It has two? Could both be removed and then the cushioned part reattached? Thank you for any information.
@sonofaboomer
10 ай бұрын
Not a stupid question. There’s two screws so removing it isn’t difficult. And the gun comes with two other sets of screws that differ in length depending on the amount of spacers you want. So you can absolutely remove both spacers and then reattach the cushioned butt plate with the shortest set of screws. :)
