IT OPENS TOMORROW!!!
Back in August of 2022 the voters of Florissant passed a $10 million bond issue, to open 2 new pools, the Koch Aquatic Center, which opens tomorrow, and Bangert Pool, which will open later this summer. Funds have also been used to make upgrades at the indoor pool at the James J. Eagan Center.
The original pool at Koch Park was built back in the 1960’s, then upgraded and rebuilt in 1995, and finally after repairs could no longer save it was removed in 2017. Since then, residents have driven by the skeleton that was Koch Park Pool and would wonder why we haven’t replaced it yet. Wonder no more. The new Koch Aquatic Center opens this weekend and we couldn’t be more excited to share it with the residents.
With recent upgrades in the area, such as the renovation of the JFK Community Center, the Splashpad that was built back in 2020, and a new grocery store across the street, This West side of Florissant is certainly continuing to move Florissant forward!
Rebuilding and improving outdated facilities, make the overall pool and aquatic experience more enjoyable for all. This project improves and enhances the overall desirability of the City of Florissant and proves this is a great place to live and raise a family. This new facility will also positively contribute to the health and wellness of users of all ages.
The pool will be open to residents only May 25th-27th.
Thank you to everyone who attended our ribbon cutting yesterday for Koch Park Aquatic Center.
