You really did a great job with showing how well this cooked the steak. I appreciate your discussion of the differences. Would love to see more videos of this cooker for different foods (cakes, frying, etc...)

Can you cook two steaks at one time, One rare and one well?
@EricLearnstoCook
Жыл бұрын
@@kathigratton2286 it only comes with one probe and can only program one at a time. So you'd have to probe the rare and move the probe and redo the program for the well done once the rare is out. So the answer is no but you can try to overlap the cooking a bit.

I'm with Amy, It shouldn't matter how thick the meat is with the unit having a temperature probe. I would also like to see more demos of this machine like a flat iron which tends to be thinner cut, and turkey loin. Yum now I'm hungry. lol Thanks for the video!

You can tell a lot of time and effort went into the video. It was well done (no pun intended). The only problem is you did not address the most important question of all... How did they compare in taste? Seems part of that answer was edited out. It would have made more sense to cook the SV one and while it was resting cook the classic one. That way you could have done a side-by-side.

According to Adam Ragusea who similarly tested this Combi Air Fryer there is no need to let the meat rest at the end. The resting is built into the cooking cycle, according to him.

Very interesting cooking tech. I wish they could have incorporated a browning element in basket to brown the bottom a bit better as I like both sides of my steak seared. But its really an easy fix just using a common sear torch to brown up the underside. These ai auto cookers will become more common and more advanced as time gos on.

I have a Dreo, have not had it very long, but have been too chicken to try to cook a steak sous vide mode, because I have sous vide equipment and I could not imagine it would do as good a job, and I wasn't sure it included a searing step. So it was great to see that it does both. The sous vide setting works great and seems a bit rarer. To me the classic setting is a little overcooked for medium rare, it's more medium. Also a tiny nitpick, you should pronounce sous vide as sou veed, not sou vee. I'm just a sous vide nerd. I will be using the sous vide mode on this next time I make a steak!

Hi! I always thought that more rare is more bloody juice released... The sous-vide function brought more of the classic mid-rare look and juice compared to the other, but at the expense of running... Both look Yum-O!! I just love your channel, and you guys are so CUTE together😍😍

This review seemed a bit focused on the amount of rareness of the steaks and didn’t mention at all one of the other selling points: the built-in water atomizer which ( (supposedly) ensures that the food stays tender and juicy.

Can you open the drawer while it’s cooking so you can flip the steak so it’s cooked evenly? Nice demonstration.

You can open it. Aka it's not locked. Not sure if it would impact the programming. This mostly reminds me of the reverse sear we did in the oven. Both steaks were very enjoyable.

Flipping not required. I have one. Just season both sides
@1Hope4All
10 ай бұрын
It DOES cook EVENLY without any flipping. These people only seasoned one side so each side looks different. They totally failed in that sense. What they should have done for this demo to show us properly was season both sides with *only* salt & pepper and then brush both sides with melted butter. Then and only then put the probe in the center then cook. This was not a good demo of how the Dreo ChefMaker does their steaks in their demos. 👎🏼 My search continues.

@@Rascal455 In my comment, I never said how thick my steak was. 🙂 Nor did I say how many ounces. My ribeyes are pretty big. And there's no need for me to cook more than one steak at a time. I'm the only one eating steak. So no need to put in another steak. I have no complaints when it comes to the Dreo ChefMaker. My ribeyes are anywhere from 20 to 23 ounces. They're pretty thick too. 1½" to 2". That's more than one pound of meat. And I'm a female just 5' tall. I'm a Sugar Free, Plant Free, Carb Free Carnivore! 🥩🐡🧈🥓🥚🍳🧂💦

I have had the unit for some time, so maybe a bit biased. With either method, you could have stopped half way through and flipped the steak. Otherwise good vid, but as a "picky" comment, don't talk with your mouth full
